    Affliction Lock; Tuning the Beast

Don't expect to get too far, but this week I will be playing an affliction lock in regional constructed just for fun. Was wondering whether you guys think an affliction lock is currently more suited for Alliance or Horde.

At first i was set on horde but now i am not so sure...

Also don't want to make thread too sporadic but do you think crush soul is an effective way of dealing with Myriam? It's either that, Brok (if horde), or Invoke the Nether (which i fear is too slow)

and what can i do about untargetable rush other than cry?

Re: Affliction Lock; Red or Blue?

Harrigan Soulsunder gives you access to Solanian's... could be good depending on what you're trying to do with the deck. Getting back abilities is almost always a good thing.

and what can i do about untargetable rush other than cry?

Vexmaster, Sarmoth, Offender Gora, Invoke should handle that just fine.

Re: Affliction Lock; Red or Blue?

Well the thing is, I'm only sure that I want my opponent to die from DoT spells. I realize this takes 7-12 turn in a meta with turn 5-6 kills. Here is my deck list, be gentle I'm new.

                          Hero- Forang or Harrigan??
    Quests                                                          Equip
    4x Jadenar                                                  3x Nemesis Skullcap
4x Against the legion                                   3x Nemesis Leggings
    4x Akama's promise                                   3x Akama's Sash
    4x Zapped Giants

    Ability                                                         Side
4x Clinging Curse                                      4x Crush Soul
    4x Corruption                                           4x Brok
    4x Immolate                                              2x Invoke Nether
    3x Siphon Life
    4x Unstable Affliction
    4x Felfre
    4x Steal Essence
    4x Shadowbolt
    3x Fel Armor
    3x Curse of Exhaustion

    Comments?
I was thinking perhaps blue for that little 1 coster ( blanders something) that is elusive and amps ability
Also do you think velnoth could decently hold off a litte rush(along with SE and SB?).

Re: Affliction Lock; Red or Blue?

Untargetables (AKA Myriam) will utterly role you over. You need a good solid ally base.

    4x Vexmaster
    4x Sarmoth
    4x Brok
    4x Niyore

This will provide great defense. You will probably want to look into main decked ability/equipment removal too, Tatulla perhaps. You definetly need global removal too. Invoke is a must, and if you can get them, Bringers. I think the Nemesis Leggings are overkill, honestly.

Re: Affliction Lock; Red or Blue?

Well I have 2 Bringers of Death but isn't that counter-intuitive to letting my DoTs melt them? Also what abilities should i drop to make the room for all those allies?

sigh I dont want to run those allies that everyone else is but i guess there is no other way to survive...

Re: Affliction Lock; Red or Blue?

i'd say add in 4 vex and 3 doshura. i would lose the corruption and the hellfire for them. also, the invoke really is needed atleast 2-3 of them. i worked on a version of this deck earlier this week and fel armor doesn't work so well any more so i would suggest switch those. i also would look at bloodknight kyria also. she is cool as a 2 of to heal every now and then.

Re: Affliction Lock; Red or Blue?

I would replace Corruption with 4 x Thulthun. You don't need Hellfire. Why cause 5 damage to your hero and allies? Akama's Sash is a must. Fel Armor is an expensive card. That's why you should replace Fel Armor with Akama's Sash. I don't know about Bringer of Death.... It's a powerful card but if you play with DoTs... It's up to you.

    Avoid the dreamer...

Re: Affliction Lock; Red or Blue?

Does anyone think perhaps it would be better to just do away with affliction and go Pagatha (destro) for her baller flip and hellfire + cannibalize synergy?

Re: Affliction Lock; Red or Blue?

i would say go pagatha more for cannabalize, haunted mills, shadowburn, and shadow fury...
