if a mage has 25 base health it seems like doing 3 damage once per game is a bit on the weaksauce side.

I would assume there are way to add to it though. It would have been cool if they put the proffessions and such on the other side for ease of use as well, but i kinda like having a clearer view of the picture and you can always flip it to look again if needed.

Overall things are looking good so far. Cant wait to see the rest of the card types.

    w00t! first to post hehe

Wow... the art is incredibley and they were right when they said the layout of the card was great... because it definitly is.

I might die waiting for it to come out =/.  Looks like once again there will be another WTFPWN blizzard product.

Althought the ability does seem somewhat lack-luster im sure its completely balanced... because who would make some sucky card the first card to preview.

    Rogues do it from behind!

Well they didn't say anything about the resource points yet, so it might just be a low cost attack. (Other attacks might have to use like 10 resource points)

In the immortal words of Peter Griffin, "Figgin' Sweet!"

    A few things,

The art looks awesome. I love the multiple ways the card can be referenced(horde, troll, mage, fire, etc.). Always for greater flexibility in deck design leading to entirely different decks using the same hero.

Is it 16 heros different heros total or 16 different hero types with multiples of each class for the different races? For example, will we see a dwarven warrior and a human warrior or just one race representing the warrior class for the Alliance. If there is only 16 hereos in the whole set, having one in each pack will lead to lots of multiples of cards you will never need multiples of.

Not too keen on the apparent size of the trait bars. Loks like they will be a pain to read in real life, unless you use an over-sized one.

As far as his ability, a little ho-hum, but like others have said you can probably juice it up and make it do more damage assuming you have the right items.  Maybe there will even be an item or ability that lets you flip back so you can use it again.

Looks like a good start to the set, only 360 more to go Wheeeee!

    No quote for you!

Awesome.  Just awesome.  So much stuff to add into the FAQ, so not so much time on my hands. :-)

Re: World of Warcraft Trading Card Game Preview: Hero by Danny Mandel

    Very excellent!

I love the dual sided Hero cards. Kinda reminds me of Rage if anyone remembers that dead CCG?

Im also a little confused if you mean only 16 Heros in the game at release or simply 16 of each class and multiple race combinations. Id want to experiment with the differences between a Tauren Hunter and an Orc. I know you will add more heros as more sets are released but I'll probably get bored playing all 16 Heros after a while. Maybe not though.

Speculating since Ta'zo here is on one of the box covers and looking at the rest of the covers we can expect

    Human Mage

    Human Paladin

    Orc Shaman

    Human Priest

    Troll Hunter

    Night Elf Hunter

    Troll Mage

    Undead Rogue

    Human Warlock

    Undead Warlock

Dwarf Paladin (perhaps multiple race/class combos then?)

    Gnome Rogue

    Gnome Warrior

    Tauren Warrior

The two pics with people fighting Im guessing are going to be library(or whatever its going to be called) cards. Thoughts?

I imagine it's quite likely that there are cards that recur the "flip" mechanic, and flip the card back to face-up position to recycle the ability...

Wow that card is beautiful. A once per game use of a hero's gametext is a strange mechanic.

Re: World of Warcraft Trading Card Game Preview: Hero by Danny Mandel

Not that odd if you think about it.
Each character has allies and armor and healing items right?
So, 3 definite damage seems pretty good.
