Tournament Registration

Player registration will occur in the LCQ room (location TBD) from 2:00 PM–6:00 PM on Wednesday, August 15. Late registration will occur inside the Maryland Street entrance, next to the main Gen Con event registration area, from 7:45 AM–8:30 AM on Thursday, August 16. Each player must have a signed consent form to compete in Pro Circuit Indianapolis 2007. Forms are available for download at ude.com/procircuit and will be available on-site. Minors must have a parent or guardian’s signature on this form.

Players will have the opportunity to ask rules questions during registration. Rules questions will not be answered during the player meeting.

To register, each competitor must present one of the following forms of identification:

a driver’s license
a passport
a photocopy of his or her birth certificate and a photo ID
(such as a military ID, a school ID, a bank card, etc.)

UDE will provide each registered Pro Circuit competitor with a 4-day badge to Gen Con Indy.

A taxi from the Indianapolis airport will cost approximately $25 to most of the downtown hotels.

Tournament Information

Format

Day 1 Format (Thursday, August 16)

Vs. System Constructed, Modern Age format (See tournament policies at www.ude.com/op/policy)
Competition will consist of ten Swiss-style rounds.

Day 2 Format (Friday, August 17)

Vs. System Booster Draft
Three boosters of Marvel Team-Up will be used for draft 1.
Three boosters of World’s Finest will be used for drafts 2 and 3.
Competition will consist of nine Swiss-style rounds.
Drafts will be held prior to rounds 11, 14, and 17.

Day 3 Format - $10K Championship tournament (Saturday, August 18)

New Bring Your Own Set format!
All competitors must construct their decks using only the cards from one set, and the banned list still applies.
Cards from the starter deck sets (Batman, Fantastic Four, and The X-Men) are not legal, unless they have been reprinted in a full set.
Anyone can play in the $10K Championship. Entry fee is $24.

Day 4 Format–Top 8 (Sunday, August 19)

Vs. System Constructed, Modern Age format.
Players will use the same Constructed decks they used during competition on Day 1.
Each round will be single-elimination. The quarterfinals and semifinals will be best 2

Round Length

Each round on Day 1 and Day 2 will be 30 minutes long.
On Day 3, the quarterfinals and semifinals will each be 150 minutes long, and the finals will be 240 minutes long.

Advancement

All qualified players may participate on Day 1 (Thursday).
Players with six or more match wins after round 10 will advance to Day 2 (Friday).
The Top 8 players after round 19 will advance to Day 3 (Sunday).

Sporting Conduct and Professionalism

The promotion of sporting conduct and professionalism is a high priority at the Pro Circuit.
Participants in the Pro Circuit are expected to behave in a mature, professional, and sporting manner at all times before, during, and after the tournament.
Participants in the Pro Circuit are expected to dress in an appropriate and professional manner.

Decklists and Other Forms

Each participant in the Pro Circuit is required to complete a tax form before the start of round 1.
Decklists for the Constructed portion of the event will be collected at the tables at 9:00 AM during the player meeting on Thursday. Players should double-check their decklists before turning them in. Decklists must be complete and accurate when they are collected.

The following sets are legal in the Constructed portion of this event: Heralds of Galactus;Legion of Superheroes; Marvel Team-Up; World’s Finest and the Essential Hellboy Collection.

Pro Circuit Participation Card

Players must bring pens, paper, card sleeves, and appropriate counters with them to the tournament. Please note that the front of all card sleeves must be clear and have no designs. Card sleeves that feature any designs on the front will not be allowed in the Pro Circuit. Card sleeves with designs on the back can be used in the event. Players should always be careful to make sure that sleeves are not marked in any way.

Any player who has ten or more Pro Circuit credits or a rating higher than 2700 as of June 30, 2007 may participate in Pro Circuit Indianapolis 2007. Additionally, any player with a rating of 2650 or higher who played in a City Championships tournament will also be qualified. Appeals will be accepted until 12:01 AM PST on July 14, 2007. Please direct all appeals to player@upperdeck.com.

Pro Circuit Prize Payout

Each player in the Pro Circuit will receive an Extended Art promo card. Trophies will be presented to the Top 8 players at the conclusion of the event.

Please allow eight to ten weeks for your check to arrive.
By United States law, for all non-U.S. residents who win money on U.S. soil,30 percent of your winnings will automatically be deducted from your check.

In order to have an opportunity to reclaim a portion of your prize winnings, please follow the instructions below. Prize winners who are foreign nationals will need to fill out Form W-7 to acquire a Tax Identification number (TIN). Having this number will allow you to file a tax return with the United States Internal Revenue Service.

Prize winners who are foreign nationals will need to file Form 8233(Instructions can be found here).
Prize winners who are a foreign corporations will need to file Form W-8ECI (Instructions can be found here).
All of these forms will be available on-site when you register for the Pro Circuit.

Side Events

All Side Events are held in the Side Event area. Please check in for side events at the Side Event stage. Pick-up booster drafts, constructed tournaments, and sealed pack tournaments will be held each day. Sign up for these events at the side events stage. Please arrive fifteen minutes prior to the posted start time of your event.
