Hey there, Vs. fans!
The polls are closed for the Player’s Choice Marvel Universe set, but you can read how the voting went down by clicking on the links below.
Week 1 introduced the fans to the idea of having a hand in the creation of this set, and it gave the players the opportunity to vote on which storylines were going to be the focus of the set.
Civil War won the vote, but Annihilation and World War Hulk were close contenders. All three top storylines will be present in the Marvel Universe set.
With the first week’s vote determining the main teams of the set, we moved on to Week 2, which looked at the cameo teams of Marvel Universe, and which teams were going to get a significant portion of cards dedicated to them.
Annihilus and his cronies from the Negative Zone just edged out Hulk and the Warbound team. Both teams, along with the HYDRA/Crime Lords team and The Illuminati, will get face time in the coming expansion.
A legend never dies, and the results of Week 3’s “Choose a super legend” confirmed that fact. The players chose which character should receive special treatment in the set, and Captain America won the vote.
With many of the flavor aspects being locked in, it came time in Week 4 to decide which game mechanic was the fan-favorite. Once again, it was a tight race, but the leader keyword won out, closely followed up by boost.
In Week 5, the creators decided to have a little fun with the ballot, and they put themselves up on the voting block. Fans and players voted on their favorite Vs. System designer/developer to design the aforementioned Sentinel of Liberty.
Andrew Yip convincingly won the vote in Week 6 (almost too convincingly . . . a conspiracy, perhaps?) and was tasked to create different versions of Captain America for the fans to vote on.
In Week 7, a super-powerful defensive Cap was chosen, bringing voting to a close at the end of the year.
