Be a Part of Upper Deck Entertainment!
Upper Deck Entertainment (UDE) wants you to be a part of our team by running
tournaments for our games. You'll be eligible for great prizes, and you'll
attract new customers with some of the most exciting new trading card game
programs around. This includes our new Hobby League program, which features
great point-of-purchase signage, eye-popping interactive materials for players,
and new prize cards every month, as well as the hugely successful Tournament
Pack (TP) program for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG.
Requirements:
- It is important to carry live product for the games which you’re trying to
run Organized Play for. Though you are not required to purchase
this product
through Upper Deck, you must have some on-hand, and we will have it available
by the case.
- You must have a hobby shop with a physical store location in a business
district.
- You must have a current business license and/or resale permit or tax ID
reflecting the name and address of the store.
- You must never, under any circumstances, sell or resell any
UDE Hobby League
or Tournament Pack cards. Even if you buy them from the secondary market or
back from your players after you’ve given them out as prizes, you still must
never sell any of these items
Once you are approved:
- You'll receive literature that gives information on our organized play
programs and an overview of our tournament programs and ordering processes.
- You'll also have access to special promotional items to enhance your store or
to be used as additional prize support for your new UDE tournaments.
- Your store will be added to our official UDE Store Locator, which can
be
found at entertainment.upperdeck.com/storelocator.
- Hobby League host stores are also added to our searchable Hobby League
locator at entertainment.upperdeck.com/hobbyleague.
Once you're established as an Official UDE Hobby Gaming Account, you'll be able
to run Hobby League and purchase Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG prize support and other hobby
store exclusives for any UDE game.
For those of you interested in running sanctioned tournaments,
the first step
is becoming a certified tournament organizer (TO). To do so, you must pass the
first level of our Tournament Organizer Certification Test, available online at
entertainment.upperdeck.com/certification.
Becoming a qualified TO will give you access to our
tournament management software, MANTIS, and UDE Player Registration cards. You
will need a UDE number in order to take the TO test. You can get a UDE number
by emailing ude@upperdeck.com
with “UDE Number” in the subject line.
Here are some of the benefits of the UDE tournament program:
- ELO ratings and rankings system allows players to track their performance
from
all UDE events
- Ability to run and report more than one tournament a week
- Ability to run Swiss-style tournaments (not just single elimination)
- Tournament management software automatically uploads results
- Full Judge and Tournament Organizer Certification Program
If you have any questions, please email us at ude@upperdeck.com.
