Shaun Hayward Takes $10K Brisbane! | | | | | Aussies and “Kiwis” take pride in their nationalities, so Shaun Hayward may have lit a spark that will ignite a fierce Vs. System rivalry between the two countries. A few weeks prior to $10K Brisbane, Australian Alex Brown won $10K Auckland, the first $10K in New Zealand. Needless to say, the home crowd would have liked it if a local had taken the prize. But Hayward came through for the New Zealanders, coming into Australia to take $10K Brisbane. The fact that Hayward is from Auckland and he beat Alex Brown in the finals makes the victory that much sweeter.
Hayward played the deck that has become the standard for $10K champions: Curve Sentinels with Micro-Sentinels. The twenty-year-old student, a ten-year veteran of TCGs, is now New Zealand’s first-ever $10K champion!
