I agree with the other posts. At our shop, the owner and I keep sleeves behind the counter for just such a case. However, we always ask for them back, and encourage them to get sleeves as soon as possible. What I usually do is look at their deck and say, ''You really need to protect that Blue Eyes anyway. Work on getting some sleeves.'' That has ...

For the first part of your comments, I agree with Danker. As to the possible scenario you mentioned, I would say that the player has attacked and entered the Damage step since he has declared his intention to ''Attack for game.'' I would not allow him to play Mind Crush in that case. He would need to declare which monster is attacking and live with ...

You cannot check your extra deck unless a card effect or game mechanic calls for it. This is covered in the UD Tournament Appendix A: Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Policies. A-11:''Players may not look at their Side Decks during a game.''

366390:The Upperdeck Policy documents supercede the rulebook. In Upperdeck sanctioned tournaments the policy documents will always be the final word.Interestingly enough, I just checked the UDE doc on line (Paragraph A-11) and it does not mention ANY size limit. Wonder why?I'm using the 0-15 rule at our local hobby shop based on the announcements ...

Spot on. This is not cheating, it's unsportsman-like conduct, pure-and-simple.The real issue is what happens between the two. I would keep a sharp eye to make sure that the player borrowing the card doesn't do something out of spite (bend the card or something). Other than that, you have to shake your head and keep going.

So that brings up the next question. If there is no official errata, then how do we know WHICH text is ''official''?Is netrep/RONIN official for purposes of judging? I have a local player (also a lvl 1 judge) who will often say ''I don't trust netrep. If it's not on UDE, it's not official.'' How should we respond in that situation?

I feel the tournament mechanic would work like this.If a double loss isn't accceptable, then the round starts. The players roll/rock-paper-scissors to see who gets to play first. The turn player always gets to act first, and concedes. If you wanted to be especially technical, game two would start; the OTHER player would concede, forcing a game ...

You are the TO. You are not arbitrarily banning anyone. The store owner is banning them from the site. The store owner is sponsoring the event. I assume the revenue and prizes are going through his store account. He runs the premises. He has every right to deny entry to individuals in this case. As T/O you are under no obligation to defend these ...

That is NOT correct. Player 1A always sits across from 2B. Always. The seating order is specified in the tournament policy. Mantis will tell you what teams play each other, but it will NOT tell you whether or not a Player is ''Player A'' or ''Player B.'' That is decided by the team BEFORE the tournament, and it doesn't change. There's a cool little ...
