Your opponent attacks either a support row character, and you move a front row character from hidden area to visible area protecting the visible character during the attack. Does it work, and, if so, does it  remove the attacker or defender?

How about if your opponent attacks your endurance, and you move a front row character from hidden area to visible area?

It depends on when you move the character. Let's use to examples to illustrate the point.

Ex 1.

Opponent declares an attack into an unprotected support row character. In response you move a character in front of the declared defended. The proposed attacker does not have flight, so the attack is not legal and never begins.

Ex 2.

Opponent declares an attack into an unprotected support row character. You say it is legal and the proposed attacker exhausts and becomes an attacker. The proposed defender becomes the defender. You then move a character in front of the support row character. Even if the attacker does not have flight, the attack has already been declared legal, so the attack will still resolve as normal.
