    Token resistance...

It's been so long since I saw this card...

Recently, a fellow at my league played two of these on me face up in his resource row.  He and I went back and forth over this principle: (hopefully, I was right)

Token Resistance - Ongoing: Exhaust a character you control that is protecting a character --- > target character gets -1 atk this turn.

His read is that when he exhaust 1 character for this card that he should be able to give one of my characters -2 atk since he has two of them face up in his row.  I argued that since it's a payment power that he would have to exhaust 2 seperate characters that were protectors to give any of my characters the -2 atk modifier.

Was I correct or should I start preparing my apoligy...

    Token Resistance (DJL-193C)
    Plot Twist, 2
Ongoing: Exhaust a character you control that is protecting a character >>> Target character gets -1 ATK this turn.

You were correct. Regardless how many copies of Token Resistance he has face up in play, each character he exhausts can only be used to pay for the payment power on 1 card, and it will give the target character -1 ATK.

Think of it like you're standing in front of 2 soda machines with just $1 - you don't get 2 drinks...
