Immovable Object Hit By Irresistible Force?

What happens if one player using a Brotherhood deck has Blob: Fred Dukes out (While Blob is in your front row, support row Brotherhood characters you control cannot be attacked) and another player wants to use Gambit: Remy LeBeau against a support row character (Activate, discard an X-men character card from your hand >>> Stun target character with a cost of 3 or less)?

Is the use of Gambit's activation power considered an "attack" and thus negated by the Blob's power, or does it bypass the Blob and allow Gambit to stun a support row character? My friend and I are both kind of rules-lawyers, so references from the Comprehensive Rules would be appreciated. Big Smile [:D]Thank you!

EDIT: Also, would Gambit need to have Flight to target support row characters with his power in the first place or does the use of his power bypass that requirement?

That wouldnt be considered a attack, because it is a activate power.

It is a payment power, not an attack. This also means that Flight is not required to target a protected support row character.
