Update:

Version 3.0.30 or higher should resolve Vista issues. Get it at www.ude.com/mantis

Thanks to the tenacity of our forum members, and the staff at UDE, the following instructions have proven on several occasions to resolve more than one issue with getting MANTIS to work properly on Windows Vista.

1. Make sure you have administrator privileges on the system.

2. Install MANTIS into the C:\MANTIS directory instead of the C:\Program Files directory.

3. Reinstall Microsoft's .Net Framework 1.1. You can download .Net Framework 1.1 from here.

Hopefully, this will help to resolve any issues you may have with your MANTIS installation on Windows Vista.

Ranking and Rating

I wish there would be a way to have the MANTIS to display the players Rating and Ranking, the ranking of course from the local player list.

Talking about the rating system, I would like to know if there are any plans to change the current rating method. I mean, the point accumulation is used on many sports, but in modern days, the tendency for ratings is derived from ELO, where it takes into account not only the fact that you won or lost, but rather who was it that you lost or won against. So I would like to know of you plan on changing from the fixed stepping system that basically rewards the player with most wins rather than the player with the most skills.

Ok, my first sanctioned tournament is comming up and I have already made a mistake. As a tournament organizer, I have found out that I cannot play in my own tournament. I already have a sanction ID and ready to go so cannot change this now.

1. Is there a way I can still play, as it is a small tournament with 5 people, I need to play to make the 6th :)

2. When adding new players that do not have UDE numbers, yet I have some blank ones, how do I assign the new players with a UDE # or cant I do this with Mantis?

I am sorry for the questions but I am a newbie in training.

Need help getting set up for events

hello, my name is david, i am a manager over at hobbytown usa in san jose california, and an avid fan of wow (mmo, tcg, tmg).

ive been trying to get my store set up to run tournaments/events for a while now, but im not wanting to be a judge myself, so that i can play in said events. i have plenty of room in the store for 8 people at all times, and can make room for more easy.

ive spent lots of time, trying to find people who judge, calling ude to get help and i havent been able to get far at all.

i was wondering if there was anyone in the san jose area that would be willing to judge for wow tcg in my store, or at least help me in getting my store set up for events.

i would prefer to talk to someone in person, if possible. please contact me at the store if anyone out there is interested!

Not getting confirmation e-mails

So I sanctioned a tourney last night and submitted results, but I didn't get a confirmation e-mail for either.

Normal? Bug?

There's a minor issue with the sanctioned tourney that occured after I submitted it, but I don't have the sanctioning ID to contact TO@ude.com.

Standings with drops

Hi,
I just found out today, that Mantis doesnt allow me to display standings with dropped players. The only way to find that out is by printing the standings, which unfortunately I wasnt able to do (no printer). Is there any other way to find out standings with drops? I know I can see it on the web after I upload results, but thats too late.

hello, just instald the new version of Mantis so I can run huntik. But wen I create a tornament and i go to " select a game" I don't get the table to choose from. What must I do to get the list with alle the games?

Howdy folks, just got my WoWTCG RK, TO, and Specialist certs this week, and as I'm a Linux user I was having some trouble getting MANTIS to run (Wine won't run it, even with every workaround I could find). I very much wanted to have it running (since, you know, it's impossible to sanction events without it) and this is what I finally ended up doing:

Download Sun VirtualBox from here and install it.
Install a copy of Windows XP on a VirtualBox Guest machine.
Install the .NET framework 1.1 from here on your VirtualBox Guest machine.
Install and run MANTIS using VirtualBox.

This works more or less perfectly, with the drawback that you will need a Windows XP CD and corresponding Windows XP CD-key to use this solution. I'm still working on a way to get MANTIS running under just Wine; I'll keep you all posted.

There were a couple of events that I ran in which a player dropped during the event. Say round 3 player x dropped. The tournament completes out, finals are played. However, before the event was closed and submitted the player was clicked and re-enrolled (by accident I didn't mean to). This froze up the program. Every time the event is selected now it freezes mantis and I have to force it closed and restart it...

Is there a way to take these events out of the drop list so that can't happen any more?

Also when/how can I get mantis to update it's document section? (Data upload doesn't work for this)

Is there a way to permanently delete a local player from my database? (Un-checking local player doesn't do the trick)

So I was sanctioning a TCG tourney for tonight, and I noticed that Gamers Lair in Edmonton, AB, Canada has about 10 different location entries... can we clean these up at all ourselves?

[Bug] Reconciling Temporay IDs does not reconcile Judge/TO's

This is an odd bug I found in the system today. I don't really know how it got through as you need a UDE number to be a judge/TO, however one of the stores I play at, the TO/Judge for a couple tournies said he didn't have an UDE number.

I was able to get registration cards today and got him registered. When I did the reconcile temporary ID's, it did NOT reconcile his ID as a TO.

Local Tourney - Not able to submit or even run future now it seems

So I hosted my first tourney today, and we had the usual turn out but I had a few more people show up during it and seem interested so hopefully we get more in the future. 
 
However there's a couple problems I have and I'm posting here as it gets more traffic than the other forums. 
 
1) The March battleground kit was never sent to the store... is there any chance we can get one still or is it too late? 
 
2) We have 3 players with temporary ID's, they don't have a real UDE number yet. Neither myself or the store owner has the registration forms yet for the tourney (he was never sent them, and I wanted to run it today so he could play). How can I get these guys UDE numbers so I can upload the tourney from today? 
 
3) Can I input and upload the previous tourney results as I know the owner was having some problems with MANTIS and the last 2 tourneys have not been uploaded.

When will Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG be removed from Mantis Software?

I saw in the Press Statement on UDE.com that not only will the Online Yu-Gi-Oh! Support have to be shredded, but so would the Mantis support.

I was just wondering when I would be forced to expect a (mandatory) upgrade to the Mantis Software that would prevent me from using it to run the small tournaments I run...

Up Link Problem

I am currently a new judge in Shreveport, Louisiana

I am able to log in to UDE.com and check all of my information concerning my UDE account.

When I go to perform a data up link or get a global player list I type in my UDE # as user name and it turns green. I then proceed to type my password, the same as what I use to log in to UDE.com, when I click perform tasks I receive an error stating my user name or password is incorrect.

Any solutions to this problem?

Unable to install mantis correctly/ Run it correctly

Hi guys,

I've tried to install Mantis on my pc in order to run some tournaments with our local TO but encountered a problem while installation.

I got a laptop with vista and a pc with windows xp on it - I couldn't figure how to install Mantis correctly on either of them.

I tried the most recent versions back untill suddenly no. 3027 worked fine while installation...

but then there was another problem! While I was able to install the version 3027 I couldn't run the programm afterwards. It gave me an error statement (freely translated from german) " The programm caused an inexplicable problem while running and had to be shut down. Please make sure that all components have been installed correctly and try again!" I tried again and again and... but it wouldn't work.

The other versions all had the same error messages whil installation (also freely translated from german)
"The installer package couldn't be opened. Make sure that the package exists and that you have full access to it. Or let the person who released the programm check if it's a valid windows installer package...!"

Please help!

Why dont I appear in mantis global search?

Hello. I got the Yugioh Judge, TO and Player management titles around 2 weeks ago. Yesterday I helped with a sneak preview and I'm going to organice a hobby league next 4 weeks.
Well, fooling around with mantis, I looked for myself in the global search. I had no result matching me, neither in the name nor in the surname. Since I cant search by UDE number, idk if I have a wrong name or anything. Around 2 months ago I notified that there was a mistake with my surname and I was told it was fixed.

Can MANTIS be run on a USB stick?

I'm new to this whole tournament organizing, mantis situation. So I have a couple questions dealing with it.

1) Deals with eliminating players during the tournament. Like if they lose 3 times or so. How do I get them out of the tournament for the rest of the day.

2) Can I give people UDE #'s via MANTIS? If so, how?
