Appendix D says:

Upper Deck recommends the two booster format, where players choose three characters per party, but organizers are free to try other creative ideas, as long as this is clearly communicated to all players prior to the tournament.

Am I right, that under the condition that it is clearly communicated bevor the tournament, that you can start a Sealed Tournament without actually buying boosters?

I ask because we are very few players here and nearly everybody has got a full set of minatures.
So most of them arent interested in buying additional boosters.
If the organizers find another way to randomly generate "booster" teams would it be tournament legal to use the existing miniatures?
Maybe we would be able to have some more tournaments here till ne next expansion comes out.

One creative idea being talked about is using BaptistDesign's randombooster generators. the TO can generate each booster when players pay their fees to enter the tournament.  Players would then have to register their boosters, but the extra effort keeps the costs down.  As long as everyone agrees to these terms when they pay to play, it's a tournament idea that falls within the presented sanctioning guidelines.

The Spoils of War generator still has a few mistakes in it.  I didn't realize these were still being used.  I'll update those shortly.

The link should now provide corrected information on ABC placement.

I didn't know about them until now (well when I saw the post), however in our small group we have a couple of kids and a couple of poor college students who would love to do this I think over spending money.
