1630410:..."Elemental Hero
Prisma is going to see a lot of play in Gladiator Beast decks in the
near future, creating a play sequence which is absolutely overwhelming.
While this play sequence won’t deplete your opponent of all his or her
life points, its power wields almost complete control over any deck
(especially Dark Armed Return). On turn 1, set a Gladiator Beast. On
turn 2, summon Elemental Hero Prisma, sending a copy of
Gladiator Beast Bestiari to the graveyard (making Elemental Hero Prisma’s name
Gladiator Beast Bestiari,
and an operable piece of summoning Gyzarus). You can then special
summon Gladiator Beast Gyzarus, destroy two of your opponent’s cards,
and attack directly for 2400 damage!
At the end of the battle phase, you use Gyzarus’ effect to trade it for Gladiator Beast Darius and Gladiator Beast Laquari,
which allows you to special summon the Bestiari you sent to the
graveyard with Prisma’s effect. Now, you have the necessary components
to special summon Gladiator Beast Heraklinos
from your Fusion deck, and have the ability to stop any spell or trap
card your opponent plays! At the end of this turn you have five cards
in hand, Gladiator Beast Heraklinos on the field, and have already dealt 2400 damage.
While
this seems like a rather large extension of cards to commit to a
combination attack, the chances of doing so are fairly strong.
Elemental Hero Prisma is searchable from your deck with Reinforcement of the Army or E - Emergency Call,
and drawing a Gladiator Beast is a fairly simple thing to do. Those are
the only two cards you need in your opening hand to make this powerful
combo work. The Gladiator Beast deck doesn’t even have to change much
to bend to the application of Gyzarus..."
Elemental Hero Prisma has been promoted a
lot recently for Gladiator Beast Decks because of the combination mentioned by MokeyMokey11.
Well I just want to clarify what makes this
card a “need” for archiving the combo mentioned before. It is simply that by
activating this card’s effect you can efficiently and fast send a gladiator beast
to graveyard.
Turning this card into Gladiator Beast
Bestiari after normal summoning it doesn’t make it essential since normal
summoning a Gladiator Beast Bestiari instead is basically the same thing. Which
shouldn’t be difficult in a Gladiator Beast Deck with 3 copies of Gladiator
Proving Ground.
So again efficiently sending a gladiator
best to graveyard is what make Elemental Hero Prisma an interesting option for
this Deck. Simply because after summoning Gladiator Beast
Darius (because of Gladiator Beast Gyzarus) this combo guarantees Gladiator Beast Darius’ effect (because of Elemental Hero Prisma) and because of that the summon
of Gladiator Beast Heraklinos.
So unless it is included another way for efficiently
sending a Gladiator Beast to Graveyard in low turns Elemental Hero Prisma can
be considered a “need” for this build. (with all the undesirable draws that
this card and some support cards for it may bring)
“On turn 1, set a Gladiator Beast.” This is
basically the main weakness of the combination described. You need 2 gladiator
beasts for summoning Gladiator Beast Gyzarus. Basically the just normal summoned
Elemental Hero Prisma or Gladiator Beast Bestiari (if you already have a gladiator beast in the graveyard) plus the gladiator beast set
or normal summoned during your past turn. The problem is that nothing guarantees
the survival of that gladiator beast. For that you will need a backup card or simply a card that allows you to special summon a gladiator beast
monster during the same turn you normal summoned Elemental Hero Prisma or Gladiator
Beast Bestiari. In the first case that would add 1 more card to this 2 card combo but it would make it
more reliable.
