    Different UDE #s

I have recently began to play WOW and was wondering if it is allowed to keep a different UDE # for different games due to points?

Also can you have different UDE #s, one for player and a different one for when you judge?

    Re: Different UDE #s

Please use one UDE number. Your points are game (Yu-Gi-Oh!, WoW, Vs., etc) and format (Constructed, Limited) specific. They never mix, so there is no reason to have more then one number.

You don't need a separate number for judging. Please use one number.

Thank you.  I only have the one number.  I wasn't sure if it was necessary.

It's also important that if you notice a play with mulitple numbers that you contact UDE so that their numbers can be combined.

    Re: Different UDE #s

Well, you don't need to contact them.

You can simply log into the ude.com/op site and edit your profile.  It lists all of your UDE#s associated with your name and/or email address.  If there are multiple IDs, then you can choose the option to consolidate those numbers.

    Re: Different UDE #s

What I meant is that some players have mulitple numbers by accident, usually because they can't remember them and the TO either not having internet access or just being lazy give them a new number.

However something that seems to come up more often now is players intentionally getting mulitple numbers, that way the can have one number to use for the official rating and they use the others while testing decks, that way if they do bad, it doesn't hurt their rating. Obviousally this is something that shouldn't happen and if I remember right isn't allowed. I'll see if I can find the old post on this.

Plus many people don't realize you can use the method you mentioned or if they were trying to around losing rating points, wouldn't do it even if they could.

It's in the UDE Tournament Policy Document, which you all know by heart anyway, right?  (hint hint).

If you know or come across anyone that has multiple UDE numbers, especially for the purposes you listed above, you should contact us immediately.  It is not permitted for a player to have multiple UDE numbers.

i have run across players with multi-number because they either quit for some time then a new t/o takes over and the player does not remember his number when he comes back to play.all i had to do was e-mail ude with all the number and they combined all the point into one.

    Re: Different UDE #s

Usually, though, if someone smply does not remember their number, a quick look-up in MANTIS can provide it. This is the prefered solution. Even with common names, once I Narrow it down to the postal codes next to them (extremely helpful) and I pull up the three or five numbers remaining, the player can recognise enough of their number to know which one is his/hers.

Supposing though that there are several in our zip code with the same name (John Smith) and the player honestly (not just to get one of the new cards) cannot recognize his number. Should we go ahead and give him/her a new one, sending a note with the new application to merge the old and new (seeing as UDE will have the address/email lists and we do not)? Is that preferable to having turning them away until they can get it from UDE? Currently, though MANTIS has a place for player information, that seems to only be at the local level. I wouldn't mind giving out a temporary ID and taking down his information to check with UDE later, if I could be certain that I could reconcile them within the week alotted. Or, if there were a number to call with the information there and get conformation. Or, if we could be certain to get a response quickly from one of their e-mails. How would UDE like us to procede in this rare circumstance?

    Re: Different UDE #s

Obviousally the solution would be to get the player entered one way or another, and not turn them away. Personally, I think your solution is fair enough, give them a temp. ID, and then after the tournament send an e-mail to UDE with the info and explain the situation. I'm doubting UDE is going to punish you if it takes longer then a week to get the tournament in, it isn't your fault the player didn't know their number, and as long as you contacted them within a day or so, I'd doubt you would be in trouble.
