I think i remember that ongoing plot twists cannot be played even if you are just using the effect before the keyword: Ongoing.

Status means nothing when you have intelligence and logic...

You are remembering incorrectly. You can play ongoing plot twists from your hand but only the power before the key word ongoing will do anything
