Additional heroes and amulet

Bring in the Big Guns SAS_115
Good, Free Action
Put a hero card from your hand into zone 1.
Go again.

Amulet of XXX LGS_0
Legendary Amulet
Play this card instead of a major hero this round.
Your opponent draws a card. Put XXX from your Legendary hero pile into zone 1.

301.2 Each player can play only one major hero each round.

301.2a Actions or amulets that say “Play this card instead of a major hero this round” can’t be played by a player who has already played a major hero that round. A player can’t play a major hero after playing such an action or amulet that round.

301.1b Modifiers that allow you to play an extra major hero in a round also allow you to play an extra action or amulet that is played instead of a major hero. This is an exception to

Can I play an amulet when I play Bring in the Big Guns?

In general, can I play a card with “Play this card instead of a major hero this round” sentence when I play a card that says i can play/put a "hero card" form somewhere (if my first card is somewhere)?

Re: Additional heroes and amulet

You could play an Amulet and use Bring in the Big Guns to put a Major Hero from your hand into play. You cannot play an Amulet with Bring in the Big Guns effect.

Cards that let you play/put a hero from your hand/deck into play don't allow you to play Amulets with their effects. You can play a card with "Play this card instead of a major hero this round" then play a major hero with a cards effect.

actually, card that let you 'play' an extra major hero WILL let you play two armulet in a round... card that let you 'Put' a hero into play will not... play and put are very different in this game. (basically, Lablanche from the first set is the only card that let you play two armulet in a round)

This is only half true.

LeBlanche creates a continous modifier that allows you to play an extra major hero any time during this round. Bring in the Big Guns creates a one-shot modifier that lets you put a hero into play immediately.

If ever there were a card that created a one-shot modifier (like Bring in the Big Guns) having you "play" a hero card, then you could still only play hero cards and not Amulets or Actions.

The important difference is not the words "play"/"put", but rather the modifier's type. LeBlanche somehow sets a condition in which you may play additional heroes for a specific duration while Bring in the Big Guns has you play a hero right now.

Re: Additional heroes and amulet

i am pretty sure even if it is a one shot, if it let you 'play' another major hero this round, you can still 'play' an amulet card instead. In the rule, it says you can only 'play' one major hero a round, but nothing about 'put'.. so you can play say everfight three times and its fine to put 3 Sabriels on the field in one round. This is why things like trailblazer won't let you 'play' more than one major hero.. because it says 'play' hero in my zone. maybe Dan can confirm what is correct?

Re: Additional heroes and amulet

The wording on bring in the big guns is "Put a hero card from your hand into zone 1. Go again."

An amulet is not a hero card at any time, when you play it, it puts a hero into play. So you can't put the amulet into play because it is not a hero nor can you play legendary titan because it is not in your hand at the time of playing the card.

But every thing posted by guardian & Jack is correct

An amulet is not a hero card at any time[...].
This is also the reason why a one-shot modifier having you "play" a hero card will never enable you to play an amulet or action card.
Just to clear this up, Jack and I had not yet agreed on this one.
