Black Rose Dragon, what does it do?

okay, so I've seen the question asked, but I have yet to see the answer.

What does Black Rose Dragon do?

As one of the 5Ds, Black rose will most likely have 8 stars, between 2500-3000 atk, be a dragon type and a non type specific effect. I realize its booster has alot of plant support, but as one of the 5Ds, I doubt it will have anything to do with the actual plant type. if anyone knows what this card actually does, it would be much appreciated if you could inform me!

(sure we'll find out eventually, but eventually could be now if someone actually knows anything)

I think we know just as much as you do. The only thing I've heard is that it is supposedly a Syncho monster. Thats about all I know.

Re: Black Rose Dragon, what does it do?

    I was so wrong...

Black Rose is a 7 star dragon with 2400 atk and a type specific effect....

    1 Tuner monster + 1 or more non-Tuner monster(s)
When this card is Synchro Summoned, you can destroy all monsters on the field. Once per turn, you can remove 1 Plant-Type monster in your Graveyard from play to change 1 Defense Position monster your opponent controls to Attack Position, and make its ATK 0.

Are you sure? I mean, isn't that like really cheap. The card sounds limited already just by the second  effect. Just one Megamorph and you have 4800 gone in one move. Are you sure there isn't more to the effect like "Destroy this card if you use this effect" or ""Black Rose Dragon can't attack this turn if you activate this effect" this card sounds almost too good.

Correction. Destroy ALL cards on the field. not just monsters.

Doubt it would happen.  It will almost certainly get errata'd to not destroy itself.

why should it? a 2400 ATK monster that destroys all the field except itself is never something healthy for the metagame, even destroying itself alongwith the field is not what i'd call good for the game

Re: Black Rose Dragon, what does it do?

Plants would become really popular quite fast and we'd see lots of Black Rose Dragon decks at compititions. This card seems to be headed into abuse territory quickly.

Re: Black Rose Dragon, what does it do?

I would assume that it will not destroy itself, it has an effect that would tend not to apply if it and everything else were to die. Black Rose is also not limited to just plants, concerning its destruction effect... any synchro oriented deck could use that ability.

I copied the effect directly from yu-gi-oh wiki, removing only the html tags. I would hope that, as a synchro monster with few summoning limitations, Black Rose's effect would be limited to anihilation of only one zone set as opposed to the entirety of the field.

its last effect may be slightly useful, but seeing as plants are now increddibly grave oriented, it could end up costing plants. If you want plant support, try Camilla the Princess Titaniel.

I told you were I got it, not that it was true. we will not know until it is released here will we know its english text.

tossing figures around doesn't make much sense... especially when your figure is unsourced. I trust the wiki as much as I would trust any website generated by the public... but this is all besides the point... which was, in part, addressed by the wiki and posted. my question is otherwise answerred.

Listen to this guy as the two former websites are sources that are straight from the japanese comics themselves.

I also go to the website as well

Btw just because I have not seen it out there yet on this thread

    Black Rose Dragon
    Fire/Dragon - Synchro/7/2400/1800
    Tuner + 1 or more Non-Tuner monsters
When this card is successfully synchro summoned, you can destroy ALL cards on the field (not all but this itself).  Once per turn, by removing a Plant-type monster in your graveyard, change a defense position monster your opponent controls to attack positon.  Until the end phase of this turn, that monster's atk is 0
Thats directly from the website he just linked.
If this card destroyed everything but itself it would either be limited or banned because of Urgent Tuning
Urgent Tuning:  You can activate this card during any battle phase.  Synchro Summon a synchro monster.

    Broken much?

By the way since it doesn't specify face up/face down.  Then we can either infer that this effect will make the moster in face down attack position with 0 atk when flipped face up or because monsters don't have values while face down that the monster has to be face up

The effect also applies for itself. It destroys itself as well (that is why you get to chose to activate the first effect)
