Hi,
There were 29 people!!!!!!
Just a short note here, but I'll fill in a report later. I went 2-3 and failed miserably. Adam struck out also. I don't know who won it, or what the top decks were, so if someone could say, that would be great.
Wow TCG is well and truly alive in the SF Bay Area!!!
Cheers.
Come play at C & Js in Newark, CA

Hey Phil, I was about to do a write-up last night, but I didn't want to give my decklist away :P. I got into the Top 4. The Top 8 were: Durga Overkill Spellweaver Jihan Ally Rush (very sim to blackice, ugh :P) Mythen of the Fang Quest hate plus untargetable rush and weldon/adam 2 Warlocks (Jesse and Michael) I think Michael's was more ally focused than Jesse's Myself, Traitor Warrior I am pretty sure Raymond made top 8 with Kil'zin and I think Ashley was also top 8, and I am not sure what she was running. I went 4-1, playing 3 Warlocks round 1vs Richard, round 2 vs Brian, round 3 vs Adam: losing round 2 to Brian and a late curve ally heavy warlock that discards your hand first, nice deck. Had crap draw as well. Then round 4 I played Raymond with his fast ass kil'zin.. he nearly beat me. Round 5 was against adams bro, Alfred - Took em both on and pissed em both off, sorry bros. Round 6 in top8 was vs Michael playing spellweaver Jihan. Barely won in sudden death 3rd game. Lost Round 7 to Brian, i smoked him hard the first game, but he quickly came back the second and third game to punish me. nice deck. Those that saw my deck, plz keepz it quiet :P

Just a couple of photos from Team Discount here, no real report from me. 29 players, big like the good ol days, a REAL man's RQ. Obligatory preflight picture. Taken just after James called to say he just woke up at our agreed upon meeting time at my house. Very yummy breakfast 3 stores down from CnJs. Good times, good food. Always get a good Team Discount breakfast before RQs. CnJs. Small store. Was fine in the beginning but got hellsa musky as the day went on. Early birds getting sleeves, probably not needed without Gameloss Grasso there. Phil scouting our deck reg as usual, the sneaky brit spy. For all the scrubs with the sub 10 people RQs, all these tables were FILLED. CnJs treating us good getting us all free pizza. After the scrubs finished scrubbing out, getting a epix game of free wow in. With the Champs coming up, I'll have way more pictures and a full report from that.

Winner was Mythen (Brian Jonas) beating the Durga Overkill that I was piloting, 2-1.
Swiss (5-0):
R1 - Durga vs. bye (Carl's Jr)
R2 - Durga over Kil'zin (Kevin), 2-0. Got board clears both games in time to stop myself from losing before I could set up.
R3 - Durga over Lionar (Ashley, top8), 2-1. Lionar went undamaged game 1, Game 2 was extremely close with Durga at 25 damage for half of the game, game 3 had a ~20/20 Spelunker Maddocks...
R4 - Durga over Jihan (Mike Y, top8), 2-1. Game 1 ended quickly with double unanswered Spelunker Maddocks, Jihan took control game 2, Durga managed to Overkill unanswered in game 3.
R5 - Durga over Mythen (Brian, winner), 2-1. Close games, but the Tainted Earths didn't come up as fast in games 2 and 3 as game 1.
Top 8 (2-1):
T8: Durga over Kil'zin (Raymund), 2-0. I think Raymund's Kil'zin was more ally-centric, and it lost steam faster than Kevin's build against Durga.
T4: Durga over Kileanna (Jesse), 2-1. Kileanna made every finishing move impossible to pull off, with Abyss Walker's Boots. Got game 1 before Kileanna could set up, Game 2 went to Kileanna, but went long due to the warlock's long setup process. Game 3 went to time, but with the Overkills and Vestments sided out (9 minutes left in match as we started), Durga was able to deal damage much faster in case it went to time.
T2: Mythen over Durga (Brian), 1-2. Went much the same as our match in Swiss. He pulled off more Myriam's faster, and my answers to take care of the quest hate did not turn up. Good game.
Had a blast everyone, see you next time!

Everybody Listen up! He was playing Morova of the sands solo. You better tech against this brilliant deck. Brian Got 1st in the main event and I got first in the draft. Also, out of 5 rounds of Constructed and 3 rounds of draft, i only played 16 games meaning i never went to game 3 all day. Either i win both or lose both. And Phil your Blade is with the store, I didn't realize you were leaving or i would have given it to you.

1207528:If you want a deck kept secret, you may not want to play it at a public event. I'm just sayin... You've also succeeded in drawing more attention to your deck than would otherwise have been there had you not said anything.
truth in these words. happened for a rq before worlds and someone spat my deck and it was less of a suprise at worlds going 4-4 instead of 6-2 like i hoped

I'm surprised no one is making fun of me because of my round 1 loss. It was all a plot to make Gomez make the hard decisions required of a judge.
I had a bad feeling the night before and actually considered not going. I did not like my deck (I rushed to finish it). Once there I made a mistake on my decklist; it took a long time to fix which caused me to forget to register. I felt like it was going to be a long day.
Luckly, my deck turned out to be better than I thought. My oddball card (some of you know what it is) worked better than I thought it would. The deck is better against rush than I anticipated (stupid MWS and its terrible shuffling) and actually pretty good against control.
I'm not sure if I'll use it for Realm Champs though. I will probably end up Paladin...
Oh, Jax. How did Mage would out for you? The class really doesn't have much going for it, does it?

I am not sure why, but I just wanted to make mage work. The class is almost decent but needs a truly immense amount of player skill (which i have) to succeed. ...Mostly unTrue Story.
