To Bulwark or Not to Bulwark, this is my question
So, time once again to post a party in an effort to get views back on these boards.
Remember that dark horse party before spoils, the one we could find no definitive origin for, thus I dubbed it Blessing of Shadows?
Blessing of Shadows is based on the application of several Blessings from Savin in conjunction with the raw survivability of Namrah and her twin sibling Harman. (Go Joe!)
the concept was simple. Foiled Kings were introduced, bringing the total of Blessings to 3 in the environment before Spoils: Blessing of Protection, Savin's Blessing of Wisdom, and Blessing of Kings.
Namrah's prevailing weakness is that she comes with a typical priest attack range of 2, but when combined with Kings and Shadowform, she's a formidable caster in her own right.
Of late, two major questions have come to me regarding the meta. How do you combat Equipment-based powerhouse parties, and how do you combat Mortimers?
I thank Roark Slader for the most concise answer to the second question. Any amount of healing throws a warlock party's DoT calculations out of orbit. Even a single point of healing can force a party relying on DoTs to extend its plan, as it cannot rely on previous estimations on when a target is expected to die to auto damage. So, if a single point of healing can disrupt DoT strategies, how then does reliable healing fare when you can get a little every tick cycle from two attackers?
I just adore Namrah. Action Bar cards bring a huge amount of swing to a game, but when your ABCs are spent and waiting to recharge, the power or lack there-of in your characters comes to light.
Are you familiar with the upcoming Realms scenario? Who reading these boards isn't, right? Well, you may understand the appeal of Savin on this map as one of the best bodies in the game, particularly when he combines Bulwark of Azinoth and Foreman's Reinforced Helm to become an immovable object.
I like abilities that break equipment, and Namrah can pack two of them! First, Mind Flay is her base attack, and both it and Mind Blast come with crits that exhaust 1 action bar card of a defender's. While I wouldn't build a party that relies on that to win, I will rejoice when my party just so happens to have a relevant ability in the format.
So, I've established the power of Savin, Namrah and Harman and what this party features. It works by turtling, eating AOEs for breakfast, and presenting two mighty casters and one monstrous tank. I swear, this party practically begs to see action on the King of the Hill map.
Blessing of Shadows- Alliance 24 (base) Honor Party Savin Lightguard Namrah Namrah
Bulwark of Azinoth Blessing of Kings Blessing of Protection Shadowform x2 Mind Blast Psychic Scream Mind Flay Mass Dispel
This is the configuration I plan to test out. It seems criminal to play Savin without Bulwark anymore, but I couldn't see this party making use of the Reinforced helm, and even Bulwark is sketchy in some matches. It's well-rounded, and while it provides overall defense and offense, it's not a wholly sketchy ABC selection that looks to rely on silver bullets to get the job done against meta-staples, rather it relies on the character cards to do the work while the ABCs augment the party in touch match ups.
To Bulwark or not to Bulwark, this is my question.
Feedback, suggestions, and thoughts are always welcome. I put my neck out there so you don't have to!
Cheers!

Just one note - IIRC, Mind Flay has no crit.

Not the ABC, the printed attack on Namrah.

To quote the Sig:
"Mind Flay, her base attack, and Mind Blast"
Maybe I misinterpreted?
(I did forget her attack was called Mind Flay)

Pretty sure he said "her base attack" as an aside further describing "Mind Flay," not as a second item in a list of three.

cool idea, but I suggest to remove Mind Flay for Battlecast Pants. Counterspell and Earth Shock hurts this team. and Mass Dispel + Pants = autowin against IB Murlocs/Iranas.
A.S.G. = ALCOHOL.SEX.GUNS.

Please excuse the confusion. I was not referring to the ABC but understand how my sentence structure made it seem such. Cheers! -teh Sig

DUDE! I forgot all about these. I wasn't able to get any Spoils equipment crafted at either GenCon or Worlds, and the current OCR omits them from its database. Thank you. I don't know if I'd like to drop Mind Flay, since the card has enormous value, but I do have to figure out where I can fit a single pair of pants into the team. Testing may reveal that 2 Shadowforms is one too many. Gotta play! Cheers! -teh Sig
