Tools of the Trade - A Taste of Honor - Part 2

Tools of the Trade - A Taste of Honor - Part 2
    By Phil Cape

Drek’Thar is an interesting ally because it doesn’t seem like it would be that hard to accumulate honor for a few turns and then pop him out on the cheap on turn 6 or so. Once you ready with him in play, he should be able to make enough wolves to win you the game from all but the most untenable of positions.

Dark Archon Farrum is an interesting 1-drop. It’s worse than a lot of alternatives if it is dying to damage based abilities, such as Blizzard or Perdition’s Blade. However, it is the only 1-drop that doesn’t just get wrecked by Vexmaster Nar’jo when you are playing second. For decks that aren’t using their hero for much anyways, the Dark Archon will be a great addition that is very difficult to handle.

i can't open the wowtcg database, isn't the dark archon that 2/1 wotf ally? if so, how is he not dead when hit with a vexmaster nar'jo?

Probally refering to his ability to allow your hero to block archon.

In anycase the priest Gladiator set has had alot of wow's and boo's.  Its actually a good card.  One of those cards u gotta play to understand its power kinda like blizzard.  Its good...But not overpowered.

After seeing the first two set's armors in play I was really excited for the Priest's, as that is my class in the game. I have yet to find a use for it. In my area there is so much equipment hate already because of the Jonas the Red decks and the Plague decks that I honestly do not see this lasting very long. It's a win more card, not a swing the game or win condition.

    I build decks........LOTS of decks

Not sure how curse of weakness is GG solo at all...  its a good card for sure, but rogues have been using cloak of shadows for... forever?... and warrior has no cards they have to pummel vs warlock OTHER than the curse...

Plus any decent deck should be running at least some ability hate other than interupts. Like Cloak of Shadows or Shield Slam. But yeah Phil, what up with forgeting about Kidney Shot or Carnage?

Re: Tools of the Trade - A Taste of Honor - Part 2

@zellmer:  of course the effect of raiment is good while its in play. No one is debating that.  However, it costs EIGHT.  It had better be good while in play.  The real question is:  "is it better than the alternatives at this cost?"  Sadly, the answer to that question is a resounding NO.

@thug:  Check last weeks article for discussion of class abilities.  I discuss curse of weakness there, and how i think it is a very useful tool for some of warlock's tough matches.  Jedion's point is well met, however, that the solo decks do have answers.  At least now warlock can play the threat/answer game with them, rather than just dying.

    Re: the list
I wrote this a couple of weeks ago, after having played the cards more, here is my revised list:

ALMOST every gem I have found in the new set, isnt on your list.

Either I am crazy, you havent playtested enough, or its going to be a weird weekend in boston.

    Im excited.

Brittilize is a great card, it's VERY powerful for its cost.

Now, will it be a good answer to the meta is another question.

Best ranking at weekly draft : 4th (5 showed up and I got a bye :D)
Number of weekly drafts : 44 and counting.
0-4 drop at worlds (pairings suck)
Once won a game in DMF, my opponent didn't show up.
