    tapping of hero

Someone goes to propose an attack by tapping his hero. In response I hammer him exhausting him so the attack is not good. He is tapped. Now can he say wait i am gonna untap my hero swing instead since I played hammer and tap his hero to do draw a card from blessing of wisdom instead. I thought it was he proposed the attack, once he does he cant say wait im gonna draw a card instead. It either one or other right. Even if I do hammer him his hero is still tapped from him proposing the attack. He has to choose to attack or draw and he chose to attack before the hammer making the draw not being possible. Please explain this. Thanks

    Re: tapping of hero

A hero does not exhaust immediately upon proposing a combat. Many people tend to play a little too fast and just exhaust a character right away even though they need to wait to see if there is any responses to the proposal (like Hammer of Justice) that could negate the attack. Only if the proposal is successful will the character exhaust and the combat begin.

The correct sequence of events would be he proposes a combat with his hero, you respond by playing Hammer of Justice, and he responds by exhausting his hero for Blessing of Wisdom.
