if you want a DoT deck its best to switch to alliance so you can stall them out with a wall of protectors while the DoTs tick down for the count.try alliance imo if you want to stall out long enough for the DoTs to go into effect and just add extra burn with myriam and that ally that adds +1 to your abilities......something flameheart....forgot his name.

    Yes. Good protector.
    Turn 1 - Nagalas
    Turn 2 - Brother Rhone
    Turn 3 - Sarmoth
Turn 4 - Parvink, Bizzazz or DOT
    Blah Blah Blah

I think it's very controlable. Your opponent will have a hard time to do anything with this wall. By the way, I think Horde is good for Destruction Warlock for very fast damage but DOT is slow (but sure?) way so go Alliance.

    Re: Affliction Lock, need help

I say this on every Warlock thread.

Run 4x Eye of Kilrogg main.

It is an INSANE card. I don't think I need to explain why. I have never, ever drawn an Eye of Kilrogg and wished I hadn't. Quite the opposite.

As for protectors, I think the above list is a bit outdated. It goes more like this now...

    T1 Antikron
    T2 Xanata
    T3 Sarmoth

Nagalaas can make an appearance too but Rhone is just not too good anymore. Parvink and Bizzazz are also not so good anymore.

You really want to consider Akama's Sash too. It'll make those Clinging Curses sting and just generally put more pressure on your opponent. For a win condition though I strongly suggest Staff of Twin Worlds, for obvious reasons. I'll say one thing about it, each of your Curse of Fatigue will add an extra counter counter and give -2 health for each counter... think about it.

    (Edited)

Gladiator's Spellblade possible alternative to Staff of Twin Worlds?  Doesn't have the potential instant kill combo with Curse of Fatigue, but has some other advantages.

    Re: Affliction Lock, need help

I'm still sticking to Harrigan (partly due to her flip and because she has awesome art :D)

    anyway... here's an updated version:

    Abilities: 22

    Steal Essence x 3
    Clinging Curse x 3
    Curse of Fatigue x 3
    Unstable Affliction x 3
    Suspended Curse x 3
    Eye of Kilrogg x 3
    Grim Reach x 2
    Drain Mana x 2

    Allies: 21

    Bloodsoul x 3
    Vexmaster Nar'jo x 3
    Johnny Rotten x 3
    Blood Knight Kyria x 3
    Rula Blackfist x 2
    Naliss the Silencer x 2

    Kreedom x 3
    Dread Infernal x 2

    Equipment: 3

    Nemesis Skullcap
Icon of the Silver Crescent x 2

    Quests + Locations: 15

    Forces of Jaedenar x 4
    Against the Illidari x 2
Orders from Lady Vashj x 2
    Chasing A-Me 01
    Solanian's Belongings
Tabards of the Illidari x 2

Circle of Blood x 3 (the DoTs consistently give me enough counters for tokens, but am not sure what to replace it with)

    Re: Affliction Lock, need help

-1 nemesis skullcap. The chances of you drawing it in any game is 1/60 anyway. Better you put in a big fatty ally or add a fourth eye of kilrogg. Like others have mentioned, it's too good not to put 4 of.

I agree with putting in akama's sash. it's such a valuable card in this kind of deck that you can't possible do without it. Without it, your deck has no way of shutting down any silvermoon deck.

Bloodsouls seem out of place in this kind of deck. Yes they're very good t1 allies but you could run something else to fit with the theme. I would perhaps run curse of weakness from FOH. It's a very underrated card in my opinion. Plus it works well with grim reach, kreedom, and harrigan's flip.

Dread infernal is also out of place and a bit expensive in this kind of deck. Try getting the new pet, Hesriana, her effect is much much better overall.

    Re: Affliction Lock, need help

Well i play a traitor DoT deck alliance. So, i may be a able to help you a bit.

    I would reccomend

    Quargmirran's Eye x2
    Curse of Endless suffering x4
    Sarmoth x2

    Re: Affliction Lock, need help

    newly revised decklist :)

    Abilities: 22

    Steal Essence x 4
    Clinging Curse x 3
    Curse of Fatigue x 3
    Unstable Affliction x 3
    Suspended Curse x 3
    Eye of Kilrogg x 3
    Grim Reach x 3

    Allies: 20

    Bloodsoul x 3
Selin Duskrunner x 3 (to add up the damage)
    Johnny Rotten x 3
    Blood Knight Kyria x 3
    Naliss the Silencer x 2

    Kreedom x 3
    Hesriana x 3

    Equipment: 4

    Akama's Sash x 2
Icon of the SIlver Crescent x 2

    Quests + Locations: 15

    Forces of Jaedenar x 4
    Against the Illidari x 2
Orders from Lady Vashj x 2
    Solanian's Belongings x 2
    One Draenei's Junk x 2

Circle of Blood x 3 (still not sure what to replace it with, Silvermoon doesn't seem like necessary, plus it's still kinda expensive to get in multiples...)

    sides:

    Tatulla the Reclaimer x 3
    Engulfing Blaze x 3
    Drain Mana x 2
    *suggestions welcomed*

so far thanks for the feedback everyone :)

yes, I noticed a matchup against Silvermoon simply shuts down my deck, hence the inclusion of Akama's Sash (although I'm not too sure if that's good enough). but the worst match up so far is against pallies (damn blessings + divine shield complete screws me over). any tips, recommendations, strategies to share?

    Re: Affliction Lock, need help

Ok most of the posts were pretty good but i dont think anyone mention the card Ra'waza Stonetusk. I think its the best defender out there and im am running it in my affliction lock deck atm. Its super cheap (2), it has 5 hp and at the start of your turn he heals all the dmg off of him for free! Id suggest puting 4 of them in your deck. Trust me you will never take them out.

Ok first of all i should tell you i play more of a combo aflliction harrigan then you are.... your relying on dots.... i rely on control so keep that in mind when you think about the changes i suggest to your deck.

    -1 Selin Duskrunner
    -2 Niliass the Silencer
    - 3 Bloodsoul
    - 3 Grim Reach
    + 1 Eye of Kilrog
    + 4 Drain Mana
    + 1 Blood Knight Kyria
    + 1 Johnny Rotten

The trick i have found to playing dots is getting them to stick.... the Drain Mana and Eye of Kilrogs help with that because you get answers out of that persons hand. Kyria is just to good at keeping yourself alive while trying to get that damage in with the DoT's

    Re: Affliction Lock, need help

The problem with affliction is it is too slow. Iv play tested my dec out so many times and it wins 50% of the time. Good thing is we have a new card to help combat that and slow down your opponent. My new affliction lock deck looks lk this and plays much better.

    Hero - Harrigan Soulsunder

    Abilities - 33

    x4 Eye of Kilrog
    x3 Drain mana
    x2 Curse of Midnight
    x4 Clinging Curse
    x4 Unstable Affliction
    x4 Creeping Shadow
    x2 Arcane Torrent
    x4 Suspended Curse
    x4 Engulfing Blaze
    x2 Curse of Tongues

    Equipment - 2

    x2 Veterans Dreadweave Belt

    Allys - 12

    x4 Kreedom
    x4 Kyria
    x4 Tattula

    Locations - 2

    x2 Silvermoon City

    Quests - 14

    x4 Solanians Belongings
    x4 Legendary Heroes
    x2 The Secret Compromised
    x4 Information Gathering

    Side Deck - 10

    x2 Arcane Torrent
    x3 Hesrianna
    x3 Grim Reach
    x1 Dreadweave belt
    x1 Curse of tongues

Curse of tongues and dreadweave belt really slow the game down for ur opponent. Turn 3 belt...turn 4 drain mana always good to lock it down, especially if u manage to get curse of tongues down turn 2. Legendary heroes and secret compromised good cheap draw control cards. Seems to work well. Belt of blasting is a nice finisher. but unfortunatley i dont own any.

Can that work? I thought the belt would make drain mana cost you 6 instead of 4.

apologies. it should be drainmana - dreadweave belt. Limit your opponents draw and hopefully make sure that what he does draw either goes as a resource or waits to be discarded
