    Tomorrow - Who's Excited?

    Hi,

Unless you've been living in a cave, you'll know that Fields of Honor releases tomorrow.

    So, who's up for it?

    How much you buyin' dude?

I think I'm upping to 5 boxes (I usually buy 4) because I missed out on the Sneak PEEK.

    Cheers.

    Re: Tomorrow - Who's Excited?

I'm crazy excited about this new set.  There's so much good in it, and everyone at the local store's got ideas for new decks.  I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with from this set, both locally and worldwide.

As for how much, I'm planning to split 4 boxes with a friend, and then I'll probably buy more packs sporadically over the next few weeks.

    Have a nice day,

    Re: Tomorrow - Who's Excited?

I am so excited about the new set.

I actually ordered a whole case of Fields of Honor : ) Normally I jsut order 4-5 boxes, but I had the money for this, and really wanted a chicken loot : )  LOL

What really stinks is that I don't have any get togethers until the 10th of july....!!! so i got to wait a whole week and a half w/o showing off.. but at least i have that time to playtest and get some games in with the wife...

    Good luck on the Chicken!!

BTW: FOH is legal on July 10th, so you timed things just right :)

    Cheers.

    Re: Tomorrow - Who's Excited?

Since there are no constructed OP events in the area once FoH is legal there is really no pressure to buy any product.

Will probably draft up a playset of commons and uncommons. I like the set so I may get 1 or 2 boxes but I doubt it.

I did not buy one booster from the BoG and it worked out well for me. My luck was pretty horrible with prize boosters as well; got so many unplayable cards until the last few weeks.

If the OP keeps going the way it is I doubt I will ever go back to buying the 6-10 booster boxes I use to on each release.

    edit - fixed typo

Well, I also have no OP Constructed events until Continentals with FOH, but we really enjoy Constructed Battlegrounds and I can't wait to try something new out in July. I do feel for you though GTB.

    Cheers.

Same here with the organized played.

I actually host events at me house, we have anywhere from 4-8 people that show up on a weekly basis... so i really enjoy building new decks and running them through raids, group games, or even AGM!!! :)

The lack of constructed tournaments is just part of it. .

Last year for regionals in Southern CA got 160 EA Punctures, 80 EA Invoke the Nethers and 5 EA Rescue the Survivors.

This year SoCA gets 64 EA RoB:Rok'dars, 4 EA Gut Shots, 4 EA Invocation, and 2 EA Alexi Barov.

The quantity has obviously gone down but the quality has as well imo.

In addition the top prize for Battle Grounds are rarely impressive and even when it is good stuff there is no marketing about it or notice to players. At most something may go up the Friday of a Marquee weekend. Rarely do we we see a card like EA Myriam, EA Vex or EA Rak come through BGs.

Personally I see very little reason at all to purchase product at this time.

I purchased zero boosters of BoG and got almost every card I needed through drafting, sealed, trading and single purchases. So far I have spent about $50 in singles and if I got another $40-50 in singles I would have all the blood cards I need. I did need to trade for 2 Talisman of the Alliance for my Continental deck but this is a TRADING card game afterall.

Most likely even if I get two boxes at the price I usually get em (bout $55 each for new release) I will probably still need to spend another $60-70 on singles.

Crafted cards are allot more miss then hit so no need to buy product to get the craft cards.

My luck on loot cards has always been horrible; only once have I cracked a rare loot and that was during a draft. I have purchased over 50 sealed booster boxes of product so that is amazing.

Currently have more UDE points then I will ever need. Have stacks of point cards still not redeemed.

We had a continental this last weekend so now I am excited about constructed but guess what...in a week we go back to sealed anyways.

    Re: Tomorrow - Who's Excited?

This reminds me of when i used to work for a PlayStation magazine, when we would get all the prerelease software, then when it actually got officially released, i was already bored having played it to death.

Been using the new stuff on MWS for a while now, so theres nothing really new anymore. Certainly no point buying boosters. The few cards id like ill just pick up as singles, rather than spend more money getting more cards to make a fashionable hat and matching cape with.

I'll be excited when I get the email from D&A that our case shipped.  Until then I will just wait.

    Re: Tomorrow - Who's Excited?

we had 'em friday in France.

    Tho I didn't buy any :)

I find it easier to buy a playset of commons/uncommons on Ebay and then single buy the rares.

    ~

Best ranking at weekly draft : 4th (5 showed up and I got a bye :D)
Number of weekly drafts : 44 and counting.
0-4 drop at worlds (pairings suck)
Once won a game in DMF, my opponent didn't show up.
