Thanks BaptistDesigns for the spoils. Hopefully you can spoil the fig before I am off.
I like this one!

1370438:Ugh, would it kill them to make it 2-2-4? As is it's a nice finisher for people with 1-2 health left, and with a reroll it's not bad at all, but it has short range (the plague of Priests) and an irrelevant crit.
If there's a priest that buffs Holy attacks it's interesting, or next to Jaina... but I don't think it stands alone as good enough.
I have to agree with you here. The inability to resist damage on it is "neat" but the range and the action bar slot make this card on par with Serpent Sting. Cool idea, Bad implementation.

To put the whining in perspective: against a plain old Haruka (or anything Resist 3) this has the damage output equivalent of a 6 dice for 2 ticks attack. Against Haruka with a Gift reroll, 2 for about 7. Against Haruka with a MotW + Gift, 2 for 8 or so.
For more perspective: this is slightly above (2.1 damage) a Corruption without Recharge, that occurs now instead of on ticks 5/10.
OMG priests are totally nerfed !1!!!11eleventy!
The only thing that could make this better is if it was Shadow. Or if there's a Holy equivalent to Shadowform coming down the pike.
Edited: Sorry for the snark. It's just this reminds me so much of how the first month of the game, everybody was claiming Corruption was nerfed because it was WAY too slow to ding somebody with it compared to attacking.

I think the "Horde Holy Priest on the offense with Mark of the Wild and Gift of the Wild" scenario is edging out of perspective :) You can't really include enhancements in a comparison since they apply to any attack. It's like saying Bogstrok Razorclaw isn't so bad if you stick Lycanthropy and Mark of the Wild on him.
Comparing it to Corruption is not really fair either. It does +.1 damage and is instant, but Corruption has longer range, deals continuous damage, recharges, and is available to characters that are already much, much better than Holy Priests.
I was waiting for an ignore defense attack, but this card is, in context, awful. If it recharged or had a relevant crit, it might be worth considering.
Holy Priests aren't fixed by replacing the best (only) thing they have going for them right now, healing/dispel ABCs, with an ok, once per round attack. If I just want magic attacks, I'll stick with mages who have better attacks built into their Character card.

I was counting the effects of MotW and GotW on *Haruka*, which anyone with knowledge of the meta wouldn't think it's a far fetched scenario. And the reasoning behind that is that, as the Resist gets higher, this becomes more and more attractive compared to a standard attack. I was showing how this was ramping up in a common scenario.
If Haruka is only benefitting from Gift of the Wild, you'll do with this (about) as much damage as Conqueror Aluna would with her main attack. If she's got Mark too, then you're edging out the damage output of Aluna. For half the ticks.
The math doesn't lie.
Edited: Okay, well, minus the damage +1 crit. Which would be something like 0.66 damage, not insignificant. Still, half the cost.

Oh, my bad.
Yeah, that makes a lot more sense.

And half the range, on a more fragile character. Also it's 1 use per round, instead of built-in and takes an ABC slot. It's not out and out abysmal, it just does nothing to address the core problems with Holy Priests, which is more a matter of their character cards than ABCs. I don't think anyone is passing Boris over right now, thinking "If I just had an ok 1-use attack ABC instead of these good heals and dispels, he'd be right up there with Warlocks!"

2655029:this card actually leads me to thinking there might just be a Alliance priest with an inbuilt attack that has the same text as Smite. i have no reasons for why i think it's going for the Alliance, but i feel this is how i often relate to Starfire(moonshadow, hurlok, yanna) and Arcane Blast(ruby).
Something like this?
Crit: Defenders can't make defense rolls for this attack.
However this particular CR change was just released (to answer Cairne's crit). It might be possible if they had overlooked that it couldn't operate in the CR version when they were designing set 3.
Some people learn, some people don't. For me, I can never correct myself to say Julia Graves as opposed to Julia Roberts
