    Industry question for inquisitive geeks

Okay so I am wondering something...

I think the game is nearing completion and they have started the printing process.  The curiosity in me is wondering a few things...

How many total cards are printed?
For instance... if there is an estimated 500,000 people who play the game and each one owns 500 cards... that is 25,000,000 cards.  I can imagine that would take a lot of time to print.

Are cards print in series or individual?
IE... 1 set at a time or 10,000 Frost Shocks are printed followed by 10,000 Are We There Yeti's?

How long do cards take to print?
        1,000,000 a day?  2,000,000 a day?

    Satisfy my dying curiosity !

    Thanks!
    E

Honestly, if there are 500,000 people playing this game, I think WoWTCG would instantly become the most popular game ever. Even if you knock a zero off the end that's still a pretty generous estimate.

Cards are printed on sheets that contains different cards. A typical press sheet is 11 cards x 11 card for a total of 121 cards per sheet. They control the rarity by how many times a card appears on the sheet and how often that sheet is printed.

    No quote for you!

Maybe not 500,000 people... but def more than 50,000. IMO of course.

The size may change somewhat, depending on the printer.

Usually the sheets are divided into Common, Uncommon and Rare Sheets.

In Rare Sheets you then can adjust rarities by laying out normal Rares twice on a print sheet and including Epic Rares only once (That would make it 242 cards on one sheet for WoW, which I don't think is probable). This would also get them into the same "slot" when you randomize things. Sometimes Promo Cards are printed along with the Rares as well.

Modern Foil cards are printed on their own special paper (which is already "all glittery") and therefore need their own print sheets (as well as being specially prepared in layout). Makes them quite expensive to produce.

I imagine the rub-off legendaries will have to come off a special printer that can first print the codes and then put the rub-off layer on top.

I know these are generalities, but that's the way it works. Usually.

I still doubt even 50k That would put it well above Magic numbers I think.
