1119219:Umm a gallon of oil costs up to $3.50.... they are not using a tenth of that on a booster pack. To tell you the truth one card costs about 5 cents in materials, 10 cents for the pretty foil.
That would be regular gasoline. The chemical to make this stuff goes through a way different process. Lets say you take 2, 100 gallons of oil right from the earth. To make gas that cars run on will end up making only 80-90 gallons of gas. While making a different and much longer process for plastics will make less than 50. Plus it cost more to ship that oil to the company. So it is affected in all angles. Now you are talking about paper. Paper comes from trees. Taxes are raised every year in South America (the U.S. largest distributer of trees) Now to cut down trees they use gas powered equipment. To transport it to a mill they use gas. The mill is also powered by gas (not fully) then it it shipped to other areas for what product it will become (again gas is used here) Depending what the product is being made it will use even more gas. Such as cards. The ink for the cards and wrapers use oil. Then you got to ship out the product into a ware house which equals more oil. Then from the ware house it goes to card stores and distributers... more oil.
