Travel to Paris Support - Complete and utter B.S.

I apologize for having to put this on a public forum, but I'm not going to lie, I'm a little outraged by UDE's handling of the players who won a paid flight and hotel to Paris.

    Here's how the story goes:

I originally wanted to try to stay two extra days in Paris. When I asked the rep if this would be possible, he said "Sure thing, just let us know when you'd like to return."

Here was the e-mail I sent in response dated August 22nd, 2008:

I think I'd like to fly home on Wednesday, October 22nd if that's possible.

The main thing I'd need to do to make this work is to secure the hotel room for 2 extra days and, so far, I haven't heard the name of the hotel we're staying at.

Do you have this info yet? Once I have the room secured, I can give you the okay for the flight back on the 22nd.
My flight was booked the next day to return on the 22nd (2 extra days). As everyone who won this prize knows, the hotel information wasn't availabe on August 22nd, and STILL isn't available to this day. I was very clear and specific that I wanted the hotel information before I gave consent for this reservation. But the flight was still booked.

In the time that passed without this info, I had to commit to my boss that I'd return on Monday, so I told the rep that since I still had no hotel info, I wasn't comfortable staying extra days and I'd like the return flight to be changed back to the 20th.

    Here's the e-mail I got today:
    Hi Kevin,

I have checked with my bosses regarding changing your flight, and they have told me that since this is different than what you had initially requested, that you would need to pay the change fee.

I spoke with the airline, and that change fee will come to $250 USD. The reason the fee is so large is that it is an international flight and those cost more on the airline’s side.

If you want to make the change, you can call the airline directly and make the change since it is your ticket, or if the travel agency’s number is on your ticket you can call them.

Please let me know how you plan on proceeding.

    Take care,

You have GOT to be kidding me.

Not only do I have e-mails supporting my every word on this, but I sent e-mails to the UDE rep handling this (who shall remain nameless on this public forum) every other day for two weeks on this subject reiterating my request and didn't get a single response until now.

I even have the cell phone number of the above UDE rep, but he hasn't returned a single call in 5 days.

I'm terribly upset by this whole thing, I feel like it's completely out of my control and, honestly, I'm considering not even going to worlds because of how this is turning out.

Does it really have to be this hard? Could someone please put me in touch with someone who can take care of this for me? I really don't want to have to send yet another e-mail to entertainment@upperdeck.com.

A PM with a phone number would be much appreciated.

    Thanks for reading,

    Sincerely,

    Kevin M. Lambert.
