Every time you do this I have to deal with people talking about the pinprik deck and asking me for decklists.

No wai. If you're heading into a Pinprik-heavy field, just pack Fel Fire, Steal Essence and Shadowbolt in your Xia deck. Mother Misery is a little harder to tech against Big Prik but it's not completely unwinnable. Also, Kurzon the False and Famish the Binder can play allies that deal damage, like Myriam and Taz'dingo. Obliveron has its answers too.

Dunno the other two? Robert, I thought we were friends. My Blaize control deck was one of the other two.

Re: Los Angeles Realm Qual Results 9/6

    Solo Blaize wIns no hoax!!!

    Freeze or Burn

last format, the pinprick hoax confused aLl who were not in the knowing. jeremy blaIr wrote an article after neil doherty's decKlist and tournamEnt report claiming to have won a regionals here in california with it. all of us at shuffle & cut games figureD the first tournament report was a hoax and we shoUlD play along, anyways the entire pinprik thing wEnt way to far and some people even loSt valuable playtest time because of it, rofl.
the following decklist is what i piloted at the 9/6 realm qualifier. the realm qualifier was a success for matt and myself, who both came together and left together taking first and second place. matt piloted forang control his secret a'dal tech "akama's sash" actually won him some games : )

    round one: blaize vs joren
this match up is very rough for joren, i knew this going into the match. joren has a hard time keeping tempo once i land a seer's signet and a brainlock. once i get them behind on the draw they have to start droppin the high end cards as resources, the deck cannot lock me because of invocation.
eventually I won, i believe we where one of the first matches done at that time. at that moment i realized there was little aggro in the field for the day and got super excited, because aggro is my most difficult match up.
    2-0
round two (1-0)-blaize vs blaize (similar but seemed less tested and lacked the awesome draw power of cipher of damnation)
    2-1
round three(2-0) fallingstar I honestly feel like i got lucky in this match up. He consistently waisted puncture on alchemy stones letting me use the belts of blasting for the win.

round four:(3-0)  blaize vs durga Control (dan's fun deck)
never really got to see the goods of his deck, voidfire and belt of blasting were really difficult for him to deal with won both games with some difficulty dan is a really good player.

round five:(4-0)  blaize vs black ice
adrian's deck here was probably the right call for the day. i got wrecked first game didn't have anyway to play around fracture. game two i side in the fractures and hit one quest ude sleeves got wet, wet ude sleeves stick really bad. i give him the win and my record prior to top 8 is 4-1.

    playoffs
round one: blaize vs blaize steven rutter
Basically I knew his list and how to play around it i had seer's signet he did not all of his board presence was easily dealt with.
round two blaze vs a very strange john patchel build looked like a limited deck good job patches on making top 4 with that silly thing : )
last match was me vs matt we knew that match up really well and decided to save us both the headache and he gave me the win.

    Freeze Or Burn
    Ability-17
    4-brainlock
    3-invocation
    3-the more, the scarier
    4-blastwave
    3-invisibility
    ally-6
    2-weeble
    2-talian bladebender
    1-narthadus
    1-scrapper
    weapon-7
    4-voidfire wand
    3-terroks shadow staff
    armor-6
    3-belt of blasting
    3-devil stitched leggings
    item-10
    4-alchemist's stones
    3-seer's signet
    3-heavy netherweave bandages
    quests-15
    4-cipher of damnation
    4-the fel and the furious
    4-the root of all evil
    2-lexicon demonica
    1-deep sea salvage

    sideboard-10
    4-nether fracture
    4-metalmorph
    1-heavy netherweave bandage
    1-the more, the scarier
