    Badge of Justice Legality

Badge of Justice Cards (Badge 1,2,3,4) will be legal on October 15th, 2008.

*this didn't make the deadline for release in the previously released Appendix, but will be in the upcoming release.

We wanted to make sure that the cards would be available worldwide prior to worlds.
Australia - To those that attend Worlds from Australia, if you plan on having the Badge of Justice cards in your deck, these will be provided to you at the venue. There was a shipping error to Australia.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to PM me or you can post here.

How about telling us what the other 2 cards are (i don't think we have seen them yet) so we can have an idea for our decks if we are so inclined to include them :-)

In that case, will there be crafting of these at DMF Jersey as well as regular?

    Also off-topic question:

Any news on honor to get into Realm Champs? Thanks

Honor to get into Realms Champs? What are you smoking?

Realms Champs have always just been for people qualified through various types of Qualifiers.

    Cheers.

Mike hinted at some point (I'm too lazy to search for it now) that there may be some alternate means of qualification this season. Think about it. Even with the increased number of Realm Qualifiers, Top 2 qualifying instead of Top 8 means that the Realm Champs would be 20-person events if those were the only means of qualifying.

Yes, this was what I was referring too. I also don't appreciate at all the "what are you smoking insult", even if he didn't mention it before, if Nationals and Worlds can be gotten into through honor, it is a valid question to ask whether Realm Champs is as well.

Sorry, it wasn't intended as an insult. So, I apologize.

Isn't it a generic statement for 'I can't believe how you could even think such a thing'? I guess I still don't know American :(

    Cheers.

    Re: Badge of Justice Legality

I did not think it was that bad of a insult personally.

If there is going to be honor invites that info will probably not be released until much later. First off they do not want to hurt attendance for realms and secondly....it is a OP event information come on the info will not come out until the last possible moment + 1 week.

    Re: Badge of Justice Legality

It wasn't a huge insult, I was just in a bad mood.

Anyway, I accept your apology Manu, sorry if I snapped at you.

They will probably announce it later I was just checking. Plus having only Top 2 qualify is going to limit a lot of people from going.

If they are worried about hurting attendance for Realms, then make attendance an alternate entry to the Championship. Attend X Realm qualifiers and you are automatically in the championship.

I've got 7 in the what I consider a reasonable distance(local to just under 3 hours drive) another 3 about 4 hours away. If for some reason I couldn't top 2 in those, at least I could be rewarded for my perisistence, not too mention spending $200 in entry fee plus gas and food for most of those days.

    No quote for you!

    Re: Badge of Justice Legality

There will not be honor invites for Realm Championships.  In the end we want these events to be high end tournaments that players have to qualify for.  If the information isn't up already, I'm going to make a blog post about the details.

    Re: Badge of Justice Legality

I hate this system so much.  With a lack of players in my area due to no OP in the area, and the closest OP usually being 4-5 hours away.  (until this realm season where we finnaly get 1 RCQ but it however falls on the same day as a RCQ 5 hours away in Waco, thus forcing this RCQ to have maybe 4-6 people at best. :(

Now in order to get these trinkets in order to be able to play them in any competetive environemnt I'm going to shell out 15-20+ bucks per badge of justice set in order to get them.. so we're talking 240-300+ bucks for 4 playsets.  Thanks UDE, appreciate it.

    Re: Badge of Justice Legality

Thats pretty harsh to travel to a RCQ. Takes me 1.5hr as I live east of Toronto. What gets me is that the Realm that Ontario is in, is going to be a 10 hour drive away to get to our championship. To be fair, there were a bunch of us that just went to DMF Indianapolis.

But travelling such a distance only to attend a tournament with 30-50 people is not what I consider high-end. If I'm travelling that sort of distance its to play with some of the best players in the World.

I really like having additional tournaments the weekend of the Realm Championship. That was a big turnoff for players who were qualified but didn't want to spend a huge amount of time travelling to a single tournament.

To be honest, I think you should consider invites to more than just the top 2 in the RCQs. I think it should be based around attendance. If there are 8-12 players, have invites for the top 2, if there are 13-24 have invites for the top 4 and if there are 25+ have invites for the top 8. This would allow for larger Realm Championships which is what I feel the players want. The more players who are qualified for these events, the more they are going to show up. Each person who attends the Championships just increases the level of competition.
