Without any major events to back up my claim, I still think it’s safe to say March of the Legion has forever changed how we think about Horde aggro.

My two cents: Warlock Training + Windseer Tarus = supreme ally advantage.

Re: Building on a Budget: Little Red Men

I have been looking to build a warlock deck. This seems as good a base as any. I think I have x3 curse of agony so I will try them in place of Blood Fury as you have suggested. I don't own any of the other two abilities that damage over time. Any rare ally suggestions for this deck? Would Morlug and Faesha be an option? If so what would they replace. I realize that steers it away from Building on a Budget, but I am curious how to build upon this list.

In regards to the mention of Windseer in the above post. I think adding him to this list might slow it down abit and then push the deck into mid-range wouldn't it?

Great article and a clean straight forward approach to the deck.

I dont understand why you are only playing 3 Thulthun in this deck. Four-of is pretty much an automatic inclusion, imo.

A friend of mine and I were discussing a deck very similar to this last week, however, not on a budget. He ended up building the deck and it was almost identical, save for the Blood Fury. I suggested Shadowburn either in place or in addition to the Shadowbolt, but he was in love with Forang's flip and using Unstable Affliction. I think Shadowburn would make a nice addition, and Pagatha's flip is always pretty good. Just the fact that Thulthun adds yet another 2 drop with 3 health makes this a scary enough deck.

I have found myself quickly drawn to Curse of Contagion.  If you put four of those in your deck and get more than one out, then things really start to happen.

Sick if you can pull it off, but maybe a tad greedy. Tarus is twice the price of Thulthun, but the same size, so he's just as susceptible to burn. And since Warlock Trained allies have big stinking targets on their foreheads, I'd rather lose 2 + 1 resources than 4 + 1 when they inevitably die. We also really want to be Warlock Training very early (within the first 3 turns) to keep protectors off the board, so Windseer comes very late to the party in that respect.

Morlug/Faesha is decent enough, for sure. You might decide the Voss/Bhenn stuff is too trixie and bring those two in, since Doshura is plenty fine on his own :) Morlug is generally pricey enough that I'll avoid even mentioning him in the rares section, but if you got it, run with it!

I agree! I actually sent a revision to change the count up to 4, but I guess it didn't get there in time. Here's how the explanation would have read:

It was a tough call whether to cut another 2-drop, since there was a definite glut of allies at that cost. For a rush deck, creating threats at every opportunity is absolutely key, so that meant [Thulthun], an excellent body hampered by the Pet uniqueness, would be the likely candidate to get shaved down from 4 to 3. This would make it less likely you’d draw a 2nd copy while one was already on the field. While sound in theory, in practice, this just meant you drew less [Thulthun]s period, so the original 4 copies were ultimately retained.

Hope that answers your question. If you're wondering, I shaved a Life Tap to get the 4th copy in.

When I showed the list around before publishing it, I definitely did get a lot of comments to this effect--when it's a question of who's the aggroest, there usually is a lot of agreement! I think you're right in that Shadow Bolt is the card that needs the most pressure; Shadowburn would definitely be an upgrade if you swap to Pagatha.

I tested an early version using Curse of Contagion, but since the main part of your deck is so good at getting rid of allies already (Doshura, Warlock Training), the Curse can become redundant. At that point, you'd then rather have burn that can target the opponent (SBolt, Steal) so you can end the game if it gets close.

Excellent choice for the side deck though

Thanks everyone for your comments, I will try to respond to everybody!

Another thing i wanted to try (which i got to do in draft) was Soul Inversion. It was actually really helpful for being aggressive and defensive. Throw it on a 3 health guy to make a bigger trade if absolutely necessary or throw it on a lowbie of theirs.

I was just going to post this, but I guess I was beaten to it.  Soul Inversion seems really good, particularly considering the amount of rush that seems to be running around nowadays.

I think the proliferation of 3 health guys makes Soul Inversion worse in constructed than it is in draft/sealed, but try it out, tell me what you think!
