Mine was written up in my feature match round 5 against Corey. I have Perdition's Blade (not exhausted), Eye of Rend, and Striker's Mark on the table (that's a 4 atk P Blade for those counting). In addition to those, I had a Skibi's Pendant which would've let my P Blade swing for free. Corey drops a Moko and runs him into me. With no resources ready, I took the 5 damage and let Moko live. It wasn't until the next Moko came out that I realized I could've taken the first one out for free!

My opponent Nyn'jah's my Gurubashi Dwarf Destroyer, next turn I play Kor Cindervein with the intent of crashing him into Nynjah to get back my toy.

Guess what race Kor Cindervein is!

Worst single play I did was (once again) not counting. Other guy has tim, grimdron, and 2 2/1s out with me at 5 life. He plays ritual of sacrifice. I say 'OK' with a Lay on Hands in my hand. He then uses Tim and I go 'OK, I....wait....awww.' Nothing else so directly lost me a game...

Wait...what?

I thought that I could hold off playing LoH until he sac'd some guys (giving me board position as well as life advantage). However, he had 6 sources of 1 damage while I had 5 life. His play to kill me is:
Tim me for 1. Let it resolve.
Grimdron me for 1. Let it resolve.
Sac a guy. Let it resolve.
Sac a second guy. Let it resolve.
Sac a third guy. Try to let it resolve. This would be fatal damage so I have to LoH to not die. He then sacs his fourth guy in response and I die. Once the ritual is out, there is no point at which I can respond and live unless he screws up by not letting each of the sources of damage resolve before doing the next one.
If I'd done it in response to the ritual, however, I'll still be facing a crowded board but I wouldn't be dead...

Having played Tewa in a number of tournaments before, I can attest that people make mistakes with trying to kill him all the time. My favorite is when someone flips Dizdemona to do exactly enough damage to kill him when I have open rescources and a quest that can be completed in response. It's won me a few games :)

Just more proof top 8 players are human:

I'm in my quarterfinals match with Casey Ehlert and just played a 7/7 Tewa into my opponents board of Halbred of Smiting and Warden Ravella. Casey untaps and decides to "kill" Tewa by attacking it with Halbred and Warden. After he attacks with his hero he realizes that Tewa is a bit bigger than a 6/6 and just takes 7 to the dome. That ultimately cost him that game and he goes on to beat me in game 3 in some pretty close games.

I LoL'd.

How about deciding on Thursday night to take a deck you've never played before to nationals? Not that it was too unfamiliar (pagatha control), but I think my biggest disadvantage was not really knowing what games I needed to immediately scoop and go to sideboard. I took too long losing too many games, and I would have had a better chance at winning the match if I had taken the quick game 1 loss.

Joe you should have just stuck with your exploding allies Pagatha build. I really liked that one.

Not shuffling back into my deck cards removed from play in game 1 (2 Chippers, a Fury etc.), and only realizing that towards the end of game 2.

I did that exact thing in a local regionals tournament on game 2. The judge caught it after I was going to win on the next turn. GG.

At nationals, my biggest bonehead mistake was a few draft choices in the second draft that I didn't make. Passed a Vanquish and Kavai the Wanderer for seemingly better cards. Not so. Went 0-3 with that crappy deck. At least my first draft was better. :P

I wish I had made a stupid play.

Then I could justify going 0-3 drop and blame myself instead of wondering what exactly happened and going into a dark corner to cry myself to sleep for the past week.

It's worse than it sounds.

It gets to turn 13 and and he knows he doesn't have an answer for the Ice Lord, so he scoops for a chance to side and win the match. His oppoenent scratches his head and shows him the only card left in his hand - In Dreams. He faced down the Ice Lord right after it was revealed. LOLOL!!!

Nice - that was Sammy Gilly! He came up to me after that match and was like "I have no business playing cards today" - haha... same deck he 6-1ed the 2008 regionals Sunday, just a bad run.

My bonehead move was against Nick from 'bama. He has Fury out and I think about attacking into it, I'm playing Gorebelly Solo, got my Wraith Scythe out and enough armor to block it... But I decide to Mortal Strike it and swing into his hero, saving the armor incase another Fury top decks in his turn.

I Mortal Strike, he Bestial Wrath's it. Later in that turn I end up attacking into it and swinging... all damage was negated and I took 8.

i was 3-3, and only way i could make d2 was to go 2-0 the rest of the day, we are 1-1 g3 is commencing, time is called, 4 round eor procedure, i play korthas, end, he plays his guy, end, i leave 2 resources open end, perditions blade 1 to my hero... ok...

2 things my buddy said he did

1) Attempt to Shadowbolt Warden Ravella
2) Life Tapping and not drawing 2 cards

He's a really good player but I think the environment just really got to him as I'm sure it did other people.

that is great............. mine was in game three mulliganing my had with no quest but having a decent opening play to a had with all 4-6 drops one quest and fall back.....

this was in Dream machine and i was 3-2 so i had to win the next 3 matches.,.. and i lost cause he had drops and equipment :(
