Question about buying cards from supermarkets rather then ebay

Christmas is coming and Im thinking about buying some loot cards for my bf, he likes the "El Pollo Grande" aka "Magic Rooster Egg" ive noticed also the "Ogre Pinata" I read it was from the fields of honor set.

now my questions are should I buy card sets from walmart, target, local hobby shop or should i save up and buy packs on e bay? is there really a difference? and also what are my chances in getting those cards by christmas your opinion? OH and when i buy the packs do the packs say fields of honor?

thank you for your time I hope I didnt ask too many questions in one thread but I thought the best people to ask would be you guys <3

Re: Question about buying cards from supermarkets rather then ebay

Unfortunately, loot cards are randomly distributed among the packs.  There is no guarantee you will open a pack with a loot card.

If you are looking for a specific loot card, then you would probably be better off just buying that loot card from a store or eBay or something like that.  You could potentially spend more buying packs trying to open one with that loot than you would just buying that loot outright.

If you decide to buy packs, then it doesn't really matter where you get them from, but I would tend to stay away from single packs on eBay.  If you buy packs from eBay, then I would suggest sealed boxes as those are less likely to have been tampered with or sorted through.

And yes, the packs state the set name on the front so it's very easy to distinguish them from each other.

There is no such thing as too many questions...lol.

    Good luck!

If you are buying the cards just for the loot cards, I'd suggest just buying those specific cards on ebay.  On average, you will get them cheaper that way rather than buying packs.  If you have some interest in playing the card game, then buying packs would be a good idea.

The packs do say "Fields of Honor" on them.  It's one of the sets of the card game.  You can buy the sets individually.  If you are buying a large quantity of packs, going to your local hobby store and trying to negotiate a deal for a case or something may be a decent move.  If not, and you don't mind waiting (which it sounds like you aren't), then buying online is always reasonably priced also.

Well there are really two options....

You can spend hundreds of dollars trying to get the loot cards from the individual packs.  You would be correct they would be the Packs that say Fields of Honor on them.  Packs can be sketchy from ebay as rares and loots can be cherry picked out of cases leaving you with a low to nothing probability of getting that loot card but local game stores and walmart seem to be fine.

Second option is to buy the specific loot card from either a trader in the forums:  metamart or cheatyface are two really good examples.  Also ebay is a fine place as well.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you so much guys :3 I would ask my bf but he would be really suspicious plus I suck at hiding what im really asking lol

the sealed boxes usually are more then the foil packs right?

hmm maybe I can buy, like, 2 sealed box online ( like walmart or target) and take my chances and then see about buying the less expensive of the two cards on ebay that way hell have cards to play with too if anything! he plays the card game so its a plus <3

Re: Question about buying cards from supermarkets rather then ebay

Sealed boxes contain 24 packs, so yes, they will be more expensive than just packs by themselves.

I would recommend looking for them on eBay, or the other two places listed above, as you can find them for anywhere from $45 - $100 depending on what set you need to buy.

Currently Fields of Honor sealed boxes are selling for ~$50 - $60 on eBay.

The lesser of the 2 loots is the Pinata which is currently selling for ~$30 on eBay.
The Chicken loot is currently selling on eBay for ~$200 - $250.

My to cents........buy the loot, know what your getting and be happy with it.  El Pollo grande is going for 260-280$.  Pretty pricy unless your a hardcore gamer (i mean your BF of course).  The grande would probably be better, at least cheaper.  If you buy the boxes and get nothing you'll have cards that won't be worth too much.  The majority of boxes I have bought never had the rare loot in them, but i was looking for the cards not the loot.

hmm good point, I might just go ahead and buy the pinata one since it seems to be in more my price range XD I was thinking about spending 50$ on it when I first posted this thread ( when I had the idea about buying the packs) maybe ill buy pinata and then grab a foil pack from walmart lol * is so bad*

Well there you go!  It sounds like you've got a game plan now...lol.

    One more thing to mention...
Every loot card has a non-loot version as well, meaning it does not have the scratch-off portion that reveals the code.  This is important as you will most likely open a pack that contains one of these cards, so don't feel jipped or cheated if that happens.

In the event you buy booster boxes www.warcraftgamingcenter.com has pretty fair prices, I order most of my single cards from that web site myself.

seeing your bf does play the card game, maybe buy an Epic set for Scourgewar, and add a loot card from ebay to it? That way he'll get some really cool stuff to play with, a tiny mount and another loot of your choice!

This could be due to low feedback or high shipping or many other little things like that.  Even the title of your auction can affect the outcome of your auction.
