My math are really bad I guess :p

    You're miscounting. For instance,

    1193591:
    Chance to deal 1 = hit only one = .5*.3^6 => 0,0003645

That value should be multiplied by 5, because there are 5 ways to hit only one hit on 5 dice. If H is hit and M is miss, there's:

    HMMMM
    MHMMM
    MMHMM
    MMMHM
    MMMMH

Right now you're only counting the first case.

Re: Lady J and the zoo

Also, I think you'll have a lot less counting to do if you start from the other side. The cases are:

    5 hits (auto-death, crits or defense doesn't matter) = 0.7 ^ 5

    4 hits with crit (auto-death, defense doesn't matter) = (0.7 ^ 4 * 0.3 * 5) * (1 - (5/7)^4)

    4 hits without crit, fail on defense = (0.7 ^ 4 * 0.3 * 5) * ((5/7)^4) * 0.3

That's without counting rerolls. 46.2595%. I'd estimate the full odds of double killing pets is about 25-30% at best.

Then Kaustron and Jaina both insta-summon new pets, and you are out a Chain Lightning (and three ticks.)

Apparently I wasn't screwed on those 3 ticks if by me doing this in almost every game I played against this team and won 6 of the 7 games then I guess it worked very well now didn't it?

Change the Elanna to a second Kaustron, :-P.

For realz, tho, I'd try and fit a Polymorph in place of Fog of War for use against Savin / HHT.

    Ben -

In both top 8s of the last two tournaments I noticed the silk bandage present.  Is this the response to a savvy warlock player believing they should not attack Jaina and potentially nullifying ice block?

Re: Lady J and the zoo

It's primarily the result of the team not needing a ninth card, and my theorycraft that it was better than Ice Block against Mortimers, a matchup I had not tested. Ice Block is basically the nuts against Morts.

Just curious, is there a reason to run double Kaustron vs. single and Elanna for anything but the extra insta-pet? His attack is slower, his defenses are weaker, and he pushes the team to 26 honor. In the time I've been playing the Jaina team, Elanna has been a very valuable piece, not just for Master Tact, but also for her fast attack, which hurts pretty good. Also, since it's hard-ish to get VPs, seems like a good idea to stay at the 24 mark rather than going over to 26. I can certainly see why double Kaustron is strong, but I feel like Elanna in that spot helps the team a bit more than Kaustron. Not to say you're wrong since it obviously works very well, it's just what I think.

Aww, damn. :( I would have loved to use Hesriana as a mount.

Re: Lady J and the zoo

I tried the Jaina/Kaustron/Elanna team earlier at my local BG, did not do so well. Honestly Fog of War did nutting, so .. i will add polymorph next weekend since i just got it today .. Ben were so right and i went hunting for the card after the BG. I will take out the Fog of War and maybe add anothe Old Bones together with Elanna, see if it works.
