    New ways of playing

Since actual meta is kinda stuck I was looking for new ways of making BGs like 1miniperfaction teams; did you find and test something else that could "refresh" the will to play? Some kind of rules like capturing flag?
No I don't have Deluxe starter so explain if you found something there.

Outside of the 3 faction tournaments, I've always thought about trying out a 2 vs 2 tournament.  I always thought those were fun and they should make for some fun and fast games.

Sealed and Draft is still infinitely fun (unless someone gets morova, Moonkin, Vashji, and soulseeker It has happened) mainly because you see and play teams that are just fun and crazy. What I dont like about the whole one mini per faction thing is that some teams are just SO broken (Vashji, Savin, Morova).

Try some of the scenarios that are in the rule book that came with the deluxe starter for a change of pace.

    Re: New ways of playing

i dont think the tourny setup will change to anything like that.

personally for casual play i avoid using duplicates on the same team, but i still adhere to same faction. constructed faction mixing is a can of unintended and purposely avoided combos.

same faction, no duplicate or triplicate figures, i spose would be a Highlander format, you could even limit ABCs to be unique per team.

    Re: New ways of playing

I normally avoid using more than one figure as well. All of the 'one of each faction' games I've heard of usually have a rule against legendarys. Guess they just can't make Chen Stormstout playable ;) .

I don't remember where I've read it, but there's a duel format where you play with one character and five to seven ABCs. I've always wanted to try that, sounds fun. My playgroup regularly switches between two ABCs per character and three as well as two character teams and three characters. Using three ABCs per character really changes things up, it's almost disappointing all the tournaments are ALWAYS two ABCs.

I also wrote up a couple of scenarios to change things up. One based on the Stranglethorn fishing tournament and one based on the Stranglethorn arena. I will post those up if anyone's interrested the next time I have them with me at a computer. WoW mini's still has a lot of room for your own rules, fluff, etc for the wargammer in you.
