Agreed, Mr. Cape. Try your hand at Ruthlessness. Pack Tactics is great, but that deck nearly builds itself. Impress me with your Ruthlessness (build).

I'd like to see you try your hand at a ruthlessness deck as well. It is the least obvious of the three decks.

Re: Tools of the Trade: New Recruits

I would like to go on a long shot here and say pack tactics is the new coming ...
but I see it as a block beater ... and no , not in a feral deck ... in a resto rush-midrange deck (yeah , the new resto talent is at least try worthy , and I really can see it shine )

all those allies beefed up to more then 2 health , they AoE you for 2 and then another 2 and you flip your hero (dorn the tranquil ) in response

and not to forget tigers fury +rak goes a long way too

I would certainly love to see a pack tactics deck (block or constructed format )
so my vote goes to DRUID !!! naturaly

Re: Tools of the Trade: New Recruits

Vote for Rogue! I've been toying with an Assassination deck even before FoH, and the addition of Ruthlessness adds a boost. Here's the deck, I'd love to hear your thoughts:

Hero: Zomm (flip - X: return X combo cards from removed zone to your graveyard)

    Quests:
    4 Warmaul Champion
    4 Forces of Jaednar
    2 Brokentoe
    2 Darkness Calling

    Locations:
    2 Darkmoon Fairy

    Abilities:
    4 Overkill
    3 Surge of Adrenalin
    3 Eviscerate
    4 Kidney Shot
    4 Deathblow
    4 Gouge
    4 On the brink
    4 Slay the feeble
    2 Obfuscate (or Carnage)

    4 Find Weakness
    3 Ruthlessness
    4 Purloin

    Allies:
    3 Blood Knight Kyria

Against aggro, stop/stall the initial rush until Overkill, which is usually backbreaking. Heal. Refill hand with Ruthlessness / Surge. Drop one or two Find Weakness, kill in one turn. With Find Weakness, Eviscerate deals 12, with two - 17... It's quite common to deal 30+ on turn 7.

Against control, it boils down to resolving 2 Find weaknesses, with graveyard full of combos (which is easy with all that milling) and couple of finishing moves in hand. Purloin, and Kidney shot at the end of opponents turn to set up. After sideboard, add Pickpockets.

Other thoughts: Lead Astray is too expensive vs. aggro, on turn 3/4 you need to mill to set up for Overkill AND avoid dmg. Burgle seems a great sideboard vs. Utopia :-)  Generally, the deck is very synergistic and delivers amazing kills, faster than Jonas. Vs. interrupts - if Find Weakness is on the table, even if they interrupt the finisher, the effect still triggers. In future sets, the deck could benefit from more meaningful 1-cost instant combo cards, as well as dual combo/finisher such as Deathblow in future sets.

    Assassination Hero Required
    Ongoing:
When you remove one or more Combo cards from your graveyard to play a Finishing Move, your hero deals that much melee damage to target hero or ally.

So when you remove 5 combo cards for eviserate with find weakness on board you deal 9 with 2 you deal 11.

Veteran's Dreadweave Belt.  I like the caster rush idea, priest deck has shown that the archetype isn't dead.  How about instead of priest run 'lock ?

Re: Tools of the Trade: New Recruits

I vote Ruthlessness/Kidney Shot Rogue.  I think it's the more challenging deck to build out of the 3 choices.

I already have a mean Pack Tactics deck that can beat Koo'zar on the draw.  I think Alamo sucks.

Dreadweave Belt is such a strong closer card, that I think we are going to see plenty of aggro builds with it over the next few months.

Re: Tools of the Trade: New Recruits

Feral Druid seems good...but the deck pretty much builds itself...and you've already listed off half the decklist in this article.

I'd vote for Vetern's Dreadweave Belt Aggro....

    +1 feral druid

The strong lay down only their weapons. The weak lay down their lives.

Ruthlessness. Don't forget my new favorite new combo card: BURGLE.
