Tools of the Trade: New Recruits

Tools of the Trade: New Recruits
    By Phil Cape

We just got a huge influx of new playables (the new set is simply awesome!), and everyone is scrambling to determine the best way to use them.

i said it once, and ill say it again.  Kidney Shot is looking to be my favorite FoH card.  3 resources to exhaust all your opponent's resources is eye opening to me and not to mention not many classes can do that.  its a potential upset in the making.

Re: Tools of the Trade: New Recruits

I agree. Kidney Shot is probably my favorite card, out of FoH.

It's just a lot of versatility, and power, across multiple matchups, in one card. The potential that it opens up, is something that I think Jonas desperately needed, and this set delivered.

I'm not sure what I think of Ruthlessness, though. It's interesting, definitely, but I'm just not sure how revolutionary it'll be, in pushing Assassination into being a playable, and competitive spec, yet.

I also really love Hesriana, although I haven't gotten to test with her, nearly as much, as I'd like to.

I just can't pass up on the love for the pretty realistic situation of having the allies out on turn three just to beef them up with Pack Tactics. My vote goes to the cat form deck - Dur1d iZ f0r fite.

Re: Tools of the Trade: New Recruits

Hasn't seen a complete spoiler? Seriously?

Anyway, my vote goes to Durid too. It would largely be a new deck, even though it looks to be a fusion of two old decks, and I'd be interested to see how it turns out. The Belt in Koozar isn't exactly revolutionary...you just add the Belt, and I don't think there's any need to stray from the successful Jonas when it comes to combo/finishing move manipulation.

I'm pretty sure Thug doesn't usually use caps lock. And I thought he was sick of being banned.

Re: Tools of the Trade: New Recruits

yeah I'd want to see the Feral Deck in action too.

I'm not too sold on the Mage/Priest aggro concept.  The scenario explained in the article (turn 1 drop, turn 2 drop, turn 3 belt) seems much too ideal to actually pull off.  Still, if it can work consistently then it should be a beating against control or midrange decks.  Though do note that very seldom will an opponent do nothing against your growing board during the first 2 turns.
