    Queue Up for Warsong Gulch

    Queue Up for Warsong Gulch
    By Jeff Liu

That’s the beauty of CtF variants for various games—you don’t change the rules much, and the experience is altered. Just like in First-person Shooters (FPS), adding in CtF rules doesn’t really change what you fundamentally do in the game, but still creates an entirely different experience.

What a fantastic variation on playing. It is good to see that the design team is taking aspects of the PVP side of the game and brining it into the TCG.

For all the people out there complaining about hunter not getting anything well they did a side game they will rule. I havnt done much PVP latly online but I remember hunter being the dumbest thing in WG. I can see horde rush hunter and untargetable alliance hunter ruling the WG minigame.

Why couldn't the rules have been on the back of the flag?  Did that make too much sense or what?

I've seen the flags. Pretty sure there was a flag on both sides. I went to a sneak peek. ;-)

Sorry, I didn't read the article closely enough. It says that Points cards have flags on them.

BTW: Back to the format. Lowdown Luppo FTW?

    Cheers.

Re: Queue Up for Warsong Gulch

I dont think lupo is gonna be all that great and I only really mentioned untargetable and evasive allies because they will be good but the hurt and pain will come from Horde Hunters.

turn 1 drop ferocity 1 drop and snake pet, grab flag

turn 2 turn in flag 1 point attack with snake drop a turn 2 drop attack with ferocity 1 drop

turn 3 with any luck turn in 2nd point drop moju and 1 drop and sit on those frost traps in your hand and that should be the game.

I figure play marksman if you want the counters and play beast if you want buff pets either way hunter "SHOULD" rule this format. also snake trap if they get it off is just silly.

I can see an alliance mage maybe making late game wins but the problem is tempo and hunter can get off to a huge start, in the regular game taking 1 or 2 early hits isnt big but in this taking 1 or 2 early hits puts you down 2 flags.

Antikron is gonna be a workhorse for alliance seeing as Hero HP is not as inportant but it kind of is because I dont want to be up 2 flags and then lose my hero dump my advantage and end up being outdrawn by another deck.

I also like druids because Bear form gives you a perminate guard on the flag and the feral buffs all work really well with defending. also they get a jump from tokens. The bear form card that allows you to draw cards each time you protect is also a little silly. Bear form also works really well when your treent grabs the flag and you need to keep him alive and barkskin is the answer to anything mage.

Im pulling for druids but I think hunter is just gonna own this format, its a rush format and hunter does rush rather well.

I love variants, and new formats and all.

But can we somehow use these for crafting mats?

    Thanks

For that matter, couldn't this have been done without even printing the flags, using crafting mats?  Even better, use the crafting mats as ante and play with them instead of flags - the winner takes the other guys material...

They are on the other side of the crafting mats. There are two sides to each card, after all.

    80 Horde Priest - Tichondrius
    80 Alliance Rogue - Icecrown

Indeed. It's instead of the advert that was there in previous sets.

I think this is a great idea, and I can't wait to give it a shot.  I used to dominate WSG with my Warlock in the MMO, so I'll probably build that for old time's sake.

Strange because the flags I got at the sneak had flags on both sides and no crafting mat.

Really? So were there regular crafting cards also, with just a few replaced by flags?

    Cheers.

Re: Queue Up for Warsong Gulch

Mage pretty much owns this format, just play Water Elemental.

I think limiting it to Lazy Peon will help a lot. Seeing 80s don't do BGs anymore unless they're farming achievement (but i will defo try Isle of Conquest when it comes out)
