    arugal's stats?

So I haven't been able to find it on here, but just curious if anyone has Arugal's stats and the cards that go with him.

    Re: arugal's stats?

Well I ended up getting him on eBay and got him in the mail today!  Here's Arugral's stats:

    Archmage Arugal
    Human Mage - Arcane
    Honor:10
    Armor: 1
    Resist: 3
    Health: 8

Void Bolt: 3 ticks, 3 range, 7 shadow
crit: arugal may add two ticks to all characters (including dead characters)

Teleportation: If Arugal would move, he teleports up to 3 spaces instead.
Legendary: Awareds double VP when destroyed.  You can play no more than 1 legenedary character.

Comes with the following action bar cards:

    Counterspell:
    Cost 3
    Range: 3

    react - Arcane
Play only when an enemy plays an ability other than a melee attack.  Negate that ability.

    "You too shall serve!"
    Cost 1
    Range: 3
    Arcane

    Archmage Arugal Only
    Play only during ticks 6-10
End Arugal's turn, gain control of target non-legendary enemy and immediately take a turn with it.  Both that enemy and Arugal pay its costs for the turn.

That action card is pretty broken...

    Re: arugal's stats?

that is SO borken. 3 move (ignore terrain and character bases), 8 health(for a mage) and every 10 ticks gain control of an opposing character.

i dont think you can use abilities with it though. I mean, what if the opposing character doesn't have a face-up action card?

    Re: arugal's stats?

Certainly the closest thing to a broken unit I have seen amoungst the legendaries.

Stats, while high for a mage are not excessive for an honour:10 unit. So Argual is all about getting the most from his special abilities+action cards. Good thing he's not Alliance, or Irana could ready "You too shall serve"

I've a problem to understand this power (i can't speak english very well)
If ALL the characters add 2 ticks, what happen? Only 2 more step in the master Clock...
How can i use this power? For Characters in Victory Area?

Can someone help me to understand.

    Re: arugal's stats?

yeah, basically time just goes faster. The main reason you want that to happen is so that you get to ticks 6-10 faster so you can use "You too Shall Serve!" . Another reason is if you're on tick 3 and your opponent doesn't have any figs camped on the VP zone, you score free points!

That's pretty much the only thing that might make this not broken. Arugal ticks up 1 for the "You too shall serve" and then ticks up as much as the character he took over. Even then, this sort of effect is extremely potent.

I find it ironic though that Counterspell (or Earth Shock) is pretty much the best solution to "You too shall serve". Arugal on Arugal match up FTW!

I ran into Arugal in Gadgetzan at Blizzcon.  He's definitely difficult to deal with to say the least - and you spend the BULK of your time going "oh god, please don't crit, please don't crit!"

While he was ripping me up, I'd managed to do some damage to him with my Shredder and Frostmane Troll - but more importantly I got him to overlook the game-state (I had a Sunscythe Raptor waiting on a Rez) and chased him towards my spawn point.

Sweet Raptor Jesus raced in, burned his "Rip To Shreds" and tore down Arugal for 8 VPs and the win.

His shadow bolt is by far and above the most devastating attack I've seen out there - 7 shadow with a +2 tick ALL is painful.. very very painful.

    Re: arugal's stats?

Its pretty much been gone over here, but I'd like to sum up why I think he's not broken (although he is close).  Its that "pay the cost of the character you take control of" part, plus the 1 armor and 8 health.  Thats going to leave a guy that you paid 10 honor for and will give up 8 VP exposed for a long time with only 1 defense die to protect him.  I will, of course, try him out, but I would take Tyrande over him (for now).

    Re: arugal's stats?

I have used Arugal and Played against Arugal. While his "You too shall serve" Is very powerful it requires you to get close to the action in order to use it, and that leave him very vulnerable to a range of attacks. I've found unless you plan your entire battle around that one card, arugal is no more of a threat than any other caster. If you DO plan your entire fight around that one card you leave yourself open to an onslaught of your other minis. I have beaten Arugal both times I played against him and am 1-1 when he was on my side.  So all in all I don't think he's broken. I've chosen to stop using him because the Honor cost and VP Reward to me isn't worth it.

My new favorite is the harvester with his fear generator buff.  Which helps proc his special ability, Against a caster it's absolutely devestating.

Hope this answers others' questions about mind control as well:

    (Taken from Comp. Rules)

400.3 Some effects let one of your characters gain control of an enemy and immediately take a turn with it.

400.3a During that turn, any references to that character’s allies or enemies now refer to your character’s allies or enemies. In addition, you can turn that character’s Action Bar cards face up at any time, and play any of its abilities; and its former controller no longer can. Paying the tick costs of any of that character’s abilities ticks up not only its personal clock but also your character’s personal clock.

400.3b Any buffs or debuffs attached to that character stay attached, and any effects applying to it continue to apply within their durations. If that character has already played an ability that can be played only once per game, you can’t play it again.

400.3c After any end of turn triggers resolve, control of that character reverts to its former controller.

Read the comp. rules. This case is covered explicitly. Whichever player has control over a figure has the right to reveal its action cards at any time.

The fig is strong, but not broken. First, it costs 10 Honor and is worth 8 VP for your opponent if it dies, so it's normal that it's a strong fig. Second, You Too Shall Serve ticks him up as well as the mini he takes over. Third, he's paper maché for any Physical damage dealer, so if he ticks up he's going to be a sitting duck.

    Re: arugal's stats?

So just to confirm- i use Arugal's mind control. He ticks up 1 for using it. Then I use the ability of the person i mind control which costs 4. That character plus Arugal tick up 4. Right?
