So with your strategy out in the open most of the time, what incentive do you have to make Overkill work? Let’s be honest: it’s because it would be awesome.

on a sunday? cool... but i think the most likely is eviscerate and gutshot as for finishing moves, but even then making a deck around those is hard so making a deck around playing lots of them and then playing overkill is so hard and situational. it might work... and so might obliveron.

Re: One Card at a Time: Overkill

hateful strike from black temple worked well in the overkill deck i made recently, as opponents usually end up playing one ally at a time after their board and hand are empty.  eviscerate and gut shot are good early control and dont require the use of combo cards to be effective.  i played a solo version of this deck that basically just used overkills, about 20 or so finishing moves, including the ones mentioned above, and donations of silk and mageweave to fill my graveyard while digging for overkills.  (found dmf to be too clumsy and slow, though at first glance, i thought it would be perfect)  also threw in a few krol blades and demonblood eviscerators to pile on damage after sweeping the board.  worked pretty well for me I must say...

Re: One Card at a Time: Overkill

As I see it, the donation quests aren't fast or cheap enough to be really useful.  I would recommend Retainer Athan and Adrenaline Rush to discard your entire hand (which should be full of finishing moves).  Unfortunately at a cost of 7, adrenaline rush might not be useful until it's too late.  Maybe Celee Cogfreeze with a bunch of cheap abilities (too bad there aren't any 1-cost finishing moves).

Slice and Dice will always have a special place in my heart, because I know Markoff still have nightmares about our DMF Orlando match where SnD won me game 3, and he ended up in 9th place.

I miss playing rogue. Rest assured that when there's enough playable Finishing Moves to make Overkill competitive, I'll be running it.

Re: One Card at a Time: Overkill

I don't know why articles stopped having forum posts made in which they could be replied to, but this seemed to be as good as spot as any to point out that in the article about vengeful gladiators vestments overkill, not being an instant ability, wont achieve exactly what I think the author wants it to...

In case you hadn't noticed, Blizzcon was last week and Worlds was this week. They are slightly more important than discussion links.

Anyway, people have improvised by making there own in the General Forum.

    Wow... wait, what?

I assume the relevance is the person who would normally embed those links is off doing coverage of these events?

I thought we were on the internet, a wonderful series of tubes through which we could make a a change on a computer somewhere else in the world no matter where we were...

Or is there another reason I'm missing?
