    Re: Realm Championship Weekend

Hi, firstly thanks for posting the info. I have a question though, what is a "rare" loot card. Does that mean you haven't decided yet or will they have a first pick of rare loot cards down to top 8? Just curious. Thanks

    Re: Realm Championship Weekend

So, with only Top 2 qualifying at each RQ, I'm unclear on how the urnout for some of these Realm Champs will be higher than 25-30 players at most without some sort of additional invites. I count 9 RQ's scheduled in the WInterspring realm for this season, with none listed yet for Quebec and New England. Let's say that there's even another 6 RQ's between those two territories. That makes a grand total of 30 people qualified, plus whoever qualifies at DMF's and LCQ's. Figure that not every single person who Q's is going to be able to make it and we're talking about a fairly small tournament. If that's your intent, that's your intent. But if it's not, it'd be nice to know in advance that there might be some alternate means of qualification, even if you don't want to release the exact details in order to keep people attending every RQ they can find in a desperate bid to qualify.

    Re: Realm Championship Weekend

I have heard that North Europa final is AGAIN in Sweden? If this is true, why? First realm final was also on Sweden and becouse bad information and really expensive flying tickets I was only who was there from Finland. I think we had as many players than sweden and I think we have at least as good players.

If this final have to keep again on Sweden it should be on Stocholm and Next final is in Finland right?

That is the intent.  We want these events to be high end tournaments where everybody and their brother isn't qualified for it. We want the spotlight to be on the players that qualified for these events and that they are competing for a large prize. (outside of the invitational) this will probably be the hardest tournament to qualify for. The Realm Open is also available that weekend.

As for Winterspring specifically, the events in Quebec are being rescheduled and there are events in New Brunswick that are for the Realm as well. Also, the LCQ will qualify an additional 4 players.

I agree. Stop giving Finland the shaft.

Okey doke. If that's the intent, then that settles it.

I counted New Brunswick in my total of nine but I actually missed one so there's 10 total scheduled between NB, NYC area and Rochester, plus Quebec, plus New England (maybe?), and the LCQs.

    Re: Realm Championship Weekend

We'd have a max of about 46 with what is scheduled now in Mulgore if everyone who qualified showed up to the championship. 2 more if the tourney in the KC area was on the right side of the border. I feel sorry for that tourney as the qualifiers would have to go to Austin as opposed to Madison (10 hrs vs 7 hrs).

Thanks for getting the information posted.

Just want to make sure things are clear

    "

    Realm Championship

The first is the Realm Championship.  This is where players will battle it out for supremacy and named the Champion of their Realm. This is an invitation only tournament and you can only be invited by winning a Realm Qualifier in that Realm. The Realm Championship is Constructed format."

You do mean placing in the top two correct?

    Re: Realm Championship Weekend

last winterspring realm championship with almost 60 people qualified only 44 showed.. now with only 1/2 the amount of people you will probably only have 25ish people show at best ... prizes for all!

I thought I would add that the PTO for Quebec has changed.  It is now being run by PES Canada.

It was definitely nice to get this information out very early in the season so that people actually know what they are playing for.  Good job there.  But I am also curious about the rare loot cards.  I can't imagine everyone getting to choose any rare loot as everyone would just pick Tigers.  Is it going to be something like 1st-Tiger, 2nd-Bear, 3rd-4th Plunderer, 5th-8th Rocket or will there be a "loot draft" by the top 8.  Also, why doesn't the winner get a box?

    Re: Realm Championship Weekend

Thanks very much for the Info, and for providing a Realm Open. That gives people a reason to travel to the event and try to qualify in the LCQ, and if they miss out, they can play in the Realm Open. Good job.

    Cheers.

Yeah, forgot to mention this. I agree with Manu-Fan, I really like the last chance qualifier along with the Open. Very good ideas there.
