About the re-rolling attack and defense dice...

Is the Hammer of Naaru "on-crit" effect a separate attack? I assume so, because it needs another separate defense roll and the way it is worded on the character card. So I assume it is subject to the re-rolling bonuses.

1293043 is not online. Last active: 08-07-2008, 9:48 PM@ iamtienpham-You are correct.  With Hammer of the Naruu you may re-roll on both the main attack and the crit attack if you are on a hill (or gain rerolls some other way).

@Bigsofty- let us know how the demos go!

Re: The Call of Battle: Upcoming Cons and a Downloadable Demo

Quick question... for Ice Barrier, do I have to use it as the attack is declared, or is it after the attack is rolled. The way it is worded suggests that it is meant to be used before the attack roll.

So I got my demo mounted on cardboard, but I'm still waiting to get an actual game in.  How goes it for everyone else?

Re: The Call of Battle: Upcoming Cons and a Downloadable Demo

Played a game, looks like Horde has a slight advantage. Charge and Execute helps quite a bit, and allow for horde to be more aggressive. Looks like Alliance is more on the reactive side in the demo. The only aggressive options they have is to throw everything at Gorebelly. The other option is to take a chance that ruby doesn't die and walk around Gorebelly after an attack to attack Lotherin.

Edit: Also going first is an advantage.

Re: The Call of Battle: Upcoming Cons and a Downloadable Demo

    Hello All,

I'm new to the forum and I have downloaded the demo and am playing it right now.  First, I can't wait until I have the real minis in my hands!  Second, I have a question.  I took a look, but I did not find what I was looking for.  I apologize if the answer has been posted somewhere.  Anyway, my question is regarding the round clock and personal clocks.  Specfically, what happens to personal clocks when the round clock hits 10 and resets to 1?

    Example...

Ruby is active on Tick 9 and uses her main attack resulting in a tick cost of 3 being added to her personal clock and resulting in a number higher than 10.  Do we just disregard this and reset her clock to 1?  Or do we put her clock at 2 for 12?  I guess to put it more simply, does a character's personal clock reset to 1 each round beginning or not?

Also, do we need to keep rolling dice each round to determine who goes first or is that just for the first round?  Thanks.

Re: The Call of Battle: Upcoming Cons and a Downloadable Demo

Personal clocks aren't "reset".  So in you example, Ruby would set her clock to 2.  Think of the tick after tick 10 as tick 11, but for ease of tracking we just roll back to 1.

Rolling to determine who goes first is only done at the start of the game.

Re: The Call of Battle: Upcoming Cons and a Downloadable Demo

After the first round, if both players have characters that are going to activate on the same round, the player who most recently took an action goes second.  So basically you alternate back and forth unless only one player has a character that can activate.  Does that make sense?

Re: The Call of Battle: Upcoming Cons and a Downloadable Demo

I actually found the exact opposite.  Out of 6 games last night I one shot'd the priest with Ruby 4 times after that Gorebelly goes down quick.  Charge is really nice, but giving Vindicator a ranged attack with Hammer of Wrath for a killing blow is sick.  USE THE TERRAIN!  It's such a big help, especially with the casters.  However, if you play any arena style (when they're dead, they're dead) that's when Horde shines Gorebelly just rips them apart with taunt and getting regular heals from the priest.
