    shawn of the dead

For the longest time my sole Shawn of the Dead made it into EVERY version of Taheo Rush/Gift deck I made.

I think I only managed to get him out, keep him alive and benefit from him in 1 game out of gawd knows how many.

I also sideboard: mrggllrrrggll... hell, that Murloc card.  I even brought it in from the sideboard for a few games at Realms when I figured it wouldn't be a dead card, but never did get a chance to play it.

Greed before Need.   It makes me love healing potion and  the peasent caller, but only if my opponet plays it in his deck.  My thinking is that it helps against bringer of death and you don't need to bring weapons, you just bring more weapon destruction.  Heh. Doesn't work well but still I try.  Zyn'Rokh also.

I rage every time I see this posted. He talks for 40 pages about how other people whine too much and then finally comes to a rather whiny conclusion himself, all the while stroking his daddy issues by pretending Sun Tzu would be impressed by the ruthlessness of his street fighter play. Which, by the way, isn't even that good. I've seen it. If someone has to write this much to make himself feel exonerated when using glitches to win despite lack of tactical ability in a fighting game, his rabid fans (who also feel his work exonerates their cheating or poor sportsmanship) probably believe the tripe he writes more than he does himself.

I do the same thing. However I doubt that is a guilty pleasure as they do serve a purpose in almost all decks...

Anyway in most cases, I always feel the need to pack at least an ability and a equipment destruction (Tatulla satisfies both conditions) in almost all decks... even if it is a rush

The guy is probably a jerk in need of some e-penis enlargement tho he makes some very valid points.

I read that like 3 days ago, and I liked it.

I really don't care about his Street Fighter gaming ability, I really don't care about his paragraphs (which are obvious self-indulgent musings) on his own gaming career, I care about one thing and one thing.  Game theory and playing to win.  Either you are playing to win, or you are not playing to win.  I, sirs and madams, play to win.  Therefore when asked if I had any gulity pleasures in deckbuilding I simply stated "no" followed by a quick hyperlink to my reasoning.  If you want to debate the website in question and its merits regarding WOWTCG, I suggest we leave this thread alone and start a new one.  Otherwise, let us let sleeping dogs lie.

We don't care if you play to win. This thread isn't about playing to win, obviously. So why don't you take your dog bed and go lie somewhere else, sir.

As far as guilty pleasures go, I don't have specific things, really, though Bloodsoul does make it in to a lot of my decks. I like to take janky combos and try to get them to work more consistantly. I like to turn mans sideways to win. I like to make people wonder what I am doing. I like to keep people off-balance. Being uber-leet gamer is okay occasionally, but making myself and other people think differently, that is lots of fun.

Doom comes for you, and it takes pleasure in your resistance.
