Re: FAQ: WoW TCG Rules Questions - Updated 10/29

This is off topic, but I'll answer it anyways.

60 cards is minimum for Competitive Constructed.  As in, if you show up to my constructed tournament, you'd better have a minimum 60 card deck.

For Limited Competition, sealed deck and booster draft, minimum is 30 cards.

For casual play between friends 30 cards is great when you're starting out learning the game, 60 cards is great when you're trying to test for a constructed environment, otherwise its whatever limit you and your playgroup wants to decide on.  If you wanted to run 10 card decks, the UDE police aren't going to come by your house and demand that you stop playing that way.

Can u arrange the quesions into categories? For example, heroes, equipments, abilities, quests etc. Just a suggestion for people to find the questions rather than posting a question (a new thread) whic have already been answered here.

The easiest way to search through the FAQ at the moment is to bring up the FAQ, then use the browser's Find.  However, I will try to reorganize it if it gets too much larger here.

This is a very basic question that isn't clear to me in the rulebook and i cant find a reference to it in these forums....
When attacking with, say, your hero, do you spend the amount of resources used to play a weapon card to attack with it as well...  I guess really, do you spend resources to attack with any party member?

When attacking with an Ally, you generally don't pay anything to attack.  Note I did say generally as there is at least one card out there that will require you to pay to attack.

When attacking with a Hero, typically (barring any sort of ATK augmenting Item or Ability) you have to have a ready Weapon in play in order to deal any sort of damage in combat.  You exhaust your Attacker in the Attack step, then pay the strike cost of the weapon and exhaust the weapon during the Defense step to add the ATK of the weapon to your Hero.  You can only strike with one weapon in a given combat.

    From the Shadow

Q: If i use From the Shadow with Sentry Gwynn or Sarmoth what happens?

    Re: From the Shadow

With Sentry Gwynn: No one on your side can be directly attacked.  They can still be targetted by Abilities though, so there will still remain removal options.

With Sarmoth, all of a sudden you have an Elusive character that has to be chosen as the attacker.  Can't overrides can, so while all your Allies cannot be attacked (including Sarmoth) your opponent is free to Attack your Hero.

    Multiple Weapons

Just wanna be sure on this one, can you strike with multiple weapons in one combat? ABB and Krol Blade for example?

    Re: Multiple Weapons

Negative, you can only strike with one weapon in combat.  You can strike with it multiple times if you found a way to ready it in combat.  Note that this isn't to say that if you were in a different combat you had to use that weapon again.  Say you attacked with your Hero and used Krol Blade.  That combat resolves.  You found a way to ready your Hero. If you attacked again, you could use ABB.

    1201467:
Q: Can you have more then one melee weapon on that the same time?
This is covered in the rule book and FAQ, the tag "Melee (1)" means you can only have 1 melee weapon out at a time. Actually, just checked, there does not seem to be any info on Unique tags in the FAQ.

    1201467:
Q: Can you atk with a range weapon and then a melee weapon?

Not in the same combat (as the rule book states). But if you attack more than once during the turn, you can strike with the second weapon, or strike with it while defending during your opponent's turn.

"Q: Can you strike with a weapon multiple times?

A: If you find a way to ready the weapon that you used to strike with during a combat, you can pay the strike cost and strike again with that weapon in that combat.  So, if you had Krol Blade equipped and you are attacking an Ally with your Hero, then you could strike with the Krol Blade for 3 ATK (after you payed 1).  If you found a way to ready that weapon during that same combat you could strike with it again by paying 1 and exhausting it increasing the total ATK imparted by Krol Blade to 6 ATK."

Ok, so paying for a weapons strike has been confirmed to be done during the defender step.  If I pay to strike once, that is an effect added to the chain correct?  Is this considered 2 strikes?  What happens if the weapon is removed in response on the chain, are all strikes by the weapon negated?  Is the +ATK at this point added to my character and done in damage at this point regardless of whether it's removed?

Separate question, when are protectors assigned?   Is it an effect added to the chain at the start of the Defender step when the player who controls the protector would gain priority?

1st) Assuming a single strike, the strike effect would go on the Chain once.  If you found a way to ready the weapon to strike again, it would be a separate effect on the Chain.  As far as destroying a weapon interrupting an effect on the Chain, remember that even if the source is destroyed an effect will still resolve normally.

2.) Protectors are done at the beginning of the Defense step prior to the window opening.  It does not use the Chain.
