Re: Rulebook Questions - Post Here
1104321: 1118284:Hello, i have a question reguarding how the deck is positioned. Its not very comfortable to reach out to draw a card because the deck is going to be far away from your hand.
Can´t it be like im showing here? "Its not very well done but you know what i mean ;)"

You can position your deck and your play area in pretty much any way you wish to be comfortable. As long as it's pretty clear what is what to your opponent.
Take Care,
Jeff
I figured it'd probably be okay to change this around. I plan on having my deck on the right side, as reaching across with my right hand seems unnatural feeling.

He already mentioned that the foreign sites will be going in to later versions of the rulebook, and maybe the ones for overseas if they can manage it.

>I did not see this covered in the rulebook so I just wanted to be sure. The lowest possible numerical value is zero, correct? For example, striking with Arcanite Reaper with Edgemaster's Handguards equipped will not increase my resources by one, right?<
Costs cannot be reduced below zero. So you do not 'gain' a resource by striking with Arcanite Reaper if you control Edgemaster's Handguards.

It'd be strange if you could. Gaining resources while killing your opponent! ;)

Re: Rulebook Questions - Post Here
This is an odd question but I just want to make sure...
I was under the impression that you ready all resources for all players
at the beginning of each turn... allowing striking and instants and
whatnot to occur. The rules suggest otherwise, so in order for me to
strike or perform instants during my opponent's turn, I would need to
hold back on my resource expenditure? I just want to verify... either
way is interesting though I thought it would be cool if the resources
ready whenever any turn starts... would probably make for faster games
though.
Interesting hand limit... and perhaps the potential for a deck type that eats the opponent's deck and stalls to win...
Thanks for putting up the rules UDE! =)

Only when your turn starts do you ready your resources (which happens during the Ready Step). This adds more strategy. Should you keep resources ready for instants, or should you risk it and exhaust them all to play some sort of powerful spell or ally? It's all about thinking ahead and being ready for what's next. ;)

Re: Rulebook Questions - Post Here
Yeah, it would be lame if your resources readied after each turn. I find myself wondering about how many resources are going to be needed per (around 60 card) deck? Like are we looking at a Magic-like 20-25 resources or what?

Well, resources aren't cards in themselves. Keep in mind that you will be playing your normal cards face-down (or face up in the case of quests) as resources. There is no "land" to speak of in the WoW TCG.

I'm not sure what you mean... anything can be a resource in this game,
so you don't really need to allocate in that manner. I wouldn't
dedicate a large portion of your deck to quests either... that will
probably bottleneck your deck since you can't play quests from your
hand. As far the rest of the deck construction... that will heavily
depend on what class you are playing.

Re: Rulebook Questions - Post Here
1104321: 1113344:This isn't really a rules question... but I noticed that there is a Druid ability in the rulebook called "Circle of Life" and as far as I know there isn't an ability called that in the online game. (haven't played for a few months though) How often are you guys going to create new abilities that aren't in the online game? And are you guys allowed to use any of the crazy stuff from Warcraft III like Demon Hunters or Pandaren Brewmasters (since they are technically from the same lore, and you can even see a Demon Hunter NPC in WoW)?
About half of the ability cards will be created by UDE and half will be straight from the game.
So, you might see a cards like, "Good strafing, or Critical Hit or Lucky Dodge or Nerf Warlocks" which are not named abilities from the game.
Yes, we have access to lots of fun stuff. A lot is planned for the future. :)
- Jeff
To me it looks like ALL players could take advantage of Circle of Life even if you didn't play it. Is that right?

Re: Rulebook Questions - Post Here
I've got a question concerning striking with weapons and timing.
Does strikiing with a weapon use the chain?
eg, lets say that there is an instant card that lets me destroy a weapon. can i use it to destroy my oponents weapon after he declared striking with it but before his atk is increased?
and, lets say 2 heros fight each other. both have a weapon weapon equipped, who has the first opportunity to strike? for example if there were a card that has a condition like "while the attackers atk is higher than the defenders" or something like this.

Can you use them on any turn? Yes. You can only put them down from your hand on your turn, though.

There is no "strike first" (unless the card specifies it) in a normal sense. If an enemy Ally/Hero strikes your Hero, and you designate a weapon to strike back (designations happen at the same time), then damage is resolved instantly. That's just how I understand it.

I know that damage is dealt at the same time, i was just thinking about effects that specifically deal with "who has the higer atk value" at a certain time etc...
