So do you think turning into a Worgen is going to be an ability kinda like Stealth or do you think it will be something you can do only during night in game? And I too will be getting out of my long time away from the game and probably join the Worgen bandwagon :)

I was watching some of the videos from Blizzcon about the new races.  There was a video where they explained how they designed the 'morphing' animation for Worgen and that told us a few things.

From that video I would say that Worgen or Human forms are purely graphical changes and don't have any impact in-game.  There are two transformation animations - a longer one that you can activate when you want, and a shorter one that occurs when you enter combat.  From that I would infer that any time you enter combat you'll automatically shift to Worgen form.  That could be a bit lame, but then I assume you'll spend 90% of your time as a Worgen anyway.

I was able to play around with the Cataclysm demo at Blizzcon a bit. One of the Worgen racial abilities is to transform between Worgen and Human form, though there didn't appear to be any actual point to this other than aesthetics. I left the character in Worgen form as I was playing, so I can't say if they automatically transformed to Worgen form in combat, but that's what I've been hearing people say.

Well thats kind of a letdown. Personally on one hand I think thats cool, you can run around in Worgen form at all times, but on the other, I think it would have been cool if say you could only turn during night, but it increased your stats or some kind of bonus. But in anycase, I better get my number for the line of Worgens that will be running around for about the first... ohh, 2-3 weeks after the expansion comes out.

Im curious if they'll allow you to race-transfer existing characters to Worgen immediately on release.

i doubt it. They will probably open it up 3 months after Cataclysm releases.
