Cairne, Illiana, Alyeah top 8'd nats, so it's more than hopeful now.  I have also enjoyed playing Cairne, Illiana, Morganis, or Cairne, Alyeah, Morganis.  Blessing of Might and Arcane Flux on Cairne all but guarantees you punting for the win.  When I played the later in a local BG, I went undefeated, never gave up more than 11 VPs, and got everyone kill via punt.  No Mortimer's were there, but it stood up to two Jaina Zoo teams.

Oh, and I don't use nightmare blade.  I use Cairne's Thunderclap and cleave.  After they attack, Clap to position them, and then cleave away.  Works much better than you think, even if the opponent knows about it, as long as you are patient for them to attack/tick up first.

You should update to include triple Irana :)

I added Triple Irana to the Hopefuls.  It's a very good team and the more I think about it, I'm sure we'll see more of it in the future.  I've actually added it to my list of things to playtest.

I've moved him up from the Hopefuls to the Tried and True.  I'm not sold on him for alot of open maps, but on a map like the NACC one, I think he's a solid choice.

The double paladin tech might be the key.  I tried several variations of Cairne, Illiana, X as I thought I would end up playing that at continentals, but\ it kept losing to standard meta calls - X usually was Haruka, Champion Shadowsun, or Aluna.  Cairne wasn't far behind as the games were usually racing towards VPs, but there were so many good cards I wanted to us on Illiana (crusader aura+breakthrough tech is fun), that a second paladin seems like a great call.

I think double paladins are the key for alot of stuff right now.  It's weird to think that just a month ago paladins were considered about as playable as rogues or priests.  I tried Thrall instead of Cairne in a band a little while back and it was alot of fun.  Thrall has higher DPS and can open you up to shaman cards, but Cairne might actually be the better call in the long run.

Can someone please tell me what set Mortimer the Malign is from please?  I don't know this character, and can't seem to find it anywhere to research.

Giving this a bump to get it back up on the main page.  Hopefully this will be helpful as people begin their testing for Worlds.

I kind of doubt it will, TBQH. This map/scenario absolutely changes the game completely. I wish they'd do something like this frequently.

I agree that this changes things dramatically.  This reminds me alot of Charlotte where you'll have some interesting things do well that normally wouldn't do well.  If nothing else this lists might give someone an idea or two of something to playtest against.
