So far I think I'm pretty good at the game...except my money management sucks, and I constantly find my ass broke.  Anyone have any good tips for making gold?

Best way to manage your money is to not be sucked into the auction house trap. You'd be surprised how much gold you accumulation, even at lower levels, if you're not constantly scanning the AH for upgrades.

Weapons and armour upgrades are not as critical at lower levels than higher levels, so save your money for a week and quest and run instances during that week. Not only will you gain upgraded gear from instances or quest rewards, but you'll keep your gold in your pocket too!

It goes withought saying that you should leave your professions alone also, as that too is a money-sink.

I'm absolutely guilty of getting sucked into that trap, now that I think about it.  I'll make sure to keep that in mind from now on and stop by the AH much less frequently.

As far as professions go, I'm Skinning/Tailoring.  I won't lie, the tailoring is the other major contributor to my broke-ness.  But, I'm trying to level it so that I can make myself a set of Shadoweave armor.  I also have the pattern to make the Admiral's Hat and the Black Swashbuckler's Shirt, which I'm hoping I can use as sort of a business venture when I hit a higher level.

My advice for gold making with tailoring is bags, wedding dresses, and tuxedos. I make decent gold making wedding dresses for people who want to enter battlegrounds in them :)

either of those 3 do ok on my server (Kahz mohdan). I have been playing for just over a year now and I give wow 4/5. With so many options I want to try it all, so I have no characters that are end-game quality. I have never done Onyxia or been to the outlands. So I kinda feel like the experienced noob.

Sixfeetdeep, 49th lvl Undead Mage (Kahz Mohdan) -- ench/tailor
Gnosis, 29th lvl Tauren Druid (Kahz Mohdan)  skinning/Leather worker
RRaaggee, 29th lvl Tauren Hunter (Kahz Mohdan) (not sure, this was a char my roommate left me when he was on my account)
Azzriel, 29th lvl Blood Elf Paladin (Bloodscalp) mining/smithing
Sattet, 29th lvl Blood Elf Hunter (Bloodscalp)  skinner/leather worker
Monkian, 18th lvl Orc Shaman (Bloodscalp)  skinner/miner
Iamyourdaddy, 29thlvl gnome Warlock (Drakthul) herb/alch
Majestic, 15th lvl Dranai Shaman (Drakthul) miner/skinner
Holycosby, 11th lvl Human Priest (Drakthul) herb/tailor

thats about all I can remember off the top of my head.

    It's just a game./p H/W List
fine, fine, I broke down and took the stupid quiz.

The experienced noob... good way of putting it.  I get distracted by things easily, so will run aroundchasing the pretty harpies instead of leveling :P

WoW has been good for my relationship as well. My bf and I play 8 toons together :)  Since this is my first MMORPG, I rate it as 5/5.
