    Re: Crystalline Devourer Raid Parties

I beat it on solo mode, I used
    Vi'gor Darkbreeze
    Bear form
    Cat form
    Shroud of Mockery

    Boris Brightbeard
    Holy nova
    Heal

    Ryno the Short
    Summon Jhuroon
    Curse of Weakness

    Dizdemona
    Death Blow
    Death Coil

    Umbrage
    Expose armor
    Blind

Plan was to use Vi’gor switching forms to match the expected damage, with his on card ability to help with healing, which it did on a double crit in cat form at a needed point. Use Mockery right off the bat which was needed since he took 3 crits in a row from the CD at the start of the encounter making it tick 6 before he finally engage the CD
Dizdemona was there to take care of the spawns, killing two outright and taking the damage for the other two, then taking the ice tomb at tic 7. I was going to use Marlow for this but I had some Honor to find a lock with a better attack. Also his crit kept him up even after the second wave of spawns.
I had problems with Boris not gaining enough aggro he took the second Icetomb which I didn’t dispel since I took the chance that CD would die before Boris would,
Umbrage is a beast at 2 for 5 since he should be always stealthed and bringing two great debuffs.
For completive play I probably would switch to either Savin or Bolvar instead of Vi’gor with Sulfuras, and Bulwark for Savin or Bolvar’s Retubution, then switch Diz out for Marlow.

    Re: Crystalline Devourer Raid Parties

I'm about to give this my first whirl tonight as part of family game night, what's everyone think of this party? (I believe 34 honor is what we can use with 2 people playing the RAID and 1 playing the Devourer)

Parvink with Execute and Sulfurus, Hand of Ragnaros (11 Honor)
I think Interfere will be very valuable in the 2nd stage

Magdeline Prideheart with Signet of Eternal Life and Cleanse (5 Honor)
Vengeance Counters can click up big I think here

Lorlai Risingmoon with Holy Nova and Mass Dispel (6 Honor)
Seems to provide good bang for buck healing with debuff removal as well for Tomb of Ice off the OCH.  Plus she can pack Mass Dispel

Irana with Arcane Blast (pop it soon to push to later stages faster maybe?) and Spellsteal (8 Honor)
Arcane Brilliance can be powerful I think as well, readying mass dispel or spellsteal as needed for when stages change

Marlowe Christophers with Summon Piztog (get any extra life where you can) and Corruption (4 Honor)

Caps off at 34 Honor (11+5+6+8+4) and I think has a fighting chance.... I may be wrong though as I've never played this format before and very well may be falling to the beasts evil ways... either way, thank you Corle, I love this creativity!

PS - I think I would have Lorlai as the leader and give her the Ligum Vitae, plus my wife would like seeing a priest lead a Raid since she is one :-)

    Re: Crystalline Devourer Raid Parties

I tested the Quest three times and only succesfully finished one time. My final party was:

    Parvink as the "Tank"
    - Red Havoc Boots ("reroll crits" was very important in Stage 2 and 4!)
    - Signet of Eternal Life (reroll defensive misses is essential for a Tank)
-> She did a wonderful job and is the perfect tank for this mission!

Magdelein Prideheart -> She was the Killer!!!
    - Blessing of Kings -> on Parvink makes her 3/3/9
    - Signet of Eternal Life (just for her Crits on 9)

Boris Brightbeard -> His built-in Dispel was worth it! Also his attacks were very important when the enemy had 5/2/12.
    - Heal -> Obviously for Parvink
    - Mass Dispel -> Best used in Tick 8

Ixamos the Redeemed -> With 5 Minis on the board, "Heroism" is insane!
    - Healing Wave -> For Parvink
    - Magma Totem -> This is very important to get rid of the Leech before they act (did I play it correct? The Totem acts after the Brood hits the table but before they act? So they're dead before they can do anything...)

    Tinker Timbletin
    - Arcane Flux -> for him and Magdeleine
    - Mana Potion

How do you like my party?

    Re: Crystalline Devourer Raid Parties

Magdeline Prideheart(5) Flash of Light + Cleanse + Ligum Vitae

Ligum Vitae is considered an equipment, so her Conviction still stand.

Ixamos the Redeemed(7) Purge + Chain Heal

Heroism is allows another quick attack or quick heal for Parvink.

    Umbrage(5) Mind-Numbing Poison + Expose Armor

He will be in Stealth for the rest of the game and Mind-Numbing Poison is great for Stage 2 and 4.

Irana(7) Silk Banadge + Arcane Flux

Silk Banadge is an item so it doesn't add up to the aggro counters. Only a Heal - Ability adds on to it. Nothing beats readying an Action Bar Card.

Parvink(7) Sunder Armor + Healing Potion

Best tank for the Stage 2 and 4. Healing Potion was not prefect Action Bar Card, Signet of Eternal Life or Red Havoc Boots are great too. Sunder Armour add up the aggro counter too.

    Re: Crystalline Devourer Raid Parties

    Hi Steelwing,

I love Lorlai. She was my favorite priest when the game first came out. I’m glad you’ve enjoyed thinking about the raid.

Yes Parafly, you are using Magma Totem correctly there.

And Divingel is right: the special raid-only items are considered equipment. However unless I wrote it wrong, Silk Bandage should bring lots of Aggro. It is a [heal symbol] ability.
