    Re: Realm Championship Weekend

With the overall decrease in number of people who will qualify for this event, combined with the number of people who are being enticed to participate in qualifiers in multiple realms to become the "Conquerer",thereby taking away spots (same person can be qualified in multiple realms, but realistically can only attend 1) why is the championship taking place over two days? Or is Saturday the 22nd exclusively for the LCQs?

Also want to second what Manu said about the Realm Open idea, very good stuff there.

I assume (maybe someone will confirm) that like the last Realms if someone finishes in the qualification area and is already qualed the invite will get passed down.

    Re: Realm Championship Weekend

Invitations pass down if a player has another invite to that Realm's championship.

He was talking about people who qualify at RQs in multiple Realms. For example, last weekend Matt Markoff qualified at a Winterspring RQ. This weekend, he could (in theory) qualify at an Azshara RQ. This isn't going to happen a ton but there are enough people who live near or in between two Realms that 3-5 of the available Q spots in each Realm could go to someone who ends up playing in a different Realm's championship.

    Re: Realm Championship Weekend

Invites only pass down in the Realm Championship in the reqion of the qualifier.

This can cause some people to be qualifed for two or more Championships and effectively "burn" an invite slot.

Some of the Realms will have the Realm Open on Sunday.

I heard throught the grape vine that YMG is no longer the organizer for the New England events, though the first (and only) qualifier listed is at YMG. Either way, any idea when they'll get more listed for the region? It can't be only 1 qualifier...

The rest of the events are scheduled.

Some Realm Championships are going to be held closer than others for some people. I know in my case, that the Winterspring Realm Championship will be closer to me than the Teldrassil Realm Championship (The Realm for Ontario, which I'm located).

Is it so bad to have players choose which RC they want to enter? I think it can be if there are only so few invites per tournament. If you open invites to top 4 per say, you're going to have more people per event and increase the games popularity and the competition level.

Wow, 5 events listed in 4 states. That should help (hopefully) garner interest in other areas of New England. I will say that Worcester is spelled wrong in the listing though... I know there are some people in Maine who are going to be happy about having a qualifier in their area. Also hooray for Champs being in Boston.

I don't believe you need to live in the realm you qualify in, as I know some of the New York players played in the Azhara (or however you spell it) realm champs instead and I know several people want to qualify elsewhere as the last Realm Champs was ridiculous in terms of skilled players.

    Re: Realm Championship Weekend

I too would like to know what a "rare" loot item entails.

If top 8 all get spectral tigers, I will be booking my flight immediately.... if top 8 all get turtles.... It would be near impossible for me to pay for my trip with prizes.

    Please advise.

It means that prizes had to be announced, but the specifics weren't finalized at the time. We are going to try and get tigers for first, DOW rare loot for 2-4 and rockets 5-8.  The Realm Open rare loot will most likely be the DOW rare loot.
