More time, yes, definitely.  But more rounds was my question and that is not necessarily true, sine both side will be putting out more damage per round.

**Ah. My bad, I totally didn't connect to your real question.

**I think that games will certainly be longer than 12ish turns. My one game was pretty lopsided to be honest.

**In fact, I can see how one person might get a kill, and the player who just lost a unit might decide it is worth giving up a few more vps (from the vp square) to pull back for a few turns giving time for a respawn... especially in 2v2 and 3v3 games. However, just guesswork.

Taunt: If an adjacent enemy attacks it must target an enemy with taunt if able (Gorebelly possesses this ability).

Not sure where the mis-communication happened... I meant Justin Gary, Product Manager at UDE.

Unless his business card is misspelled... :-/

Just seeing this much about ability cards is really getting the gears turning with all the possibilities this game has. I'm getting excited for this again, hope there will be a good Tourny setting in Chicago.

The best way to ensure that is to create one. Get on it!!! Tell your friends. :-) Be a judge.

    Own it!

Hopefully you can bring a pool of 4 cards and decide which two you want after seeing your opponents army. Otherwise, so much will come down to scouting.

You'll get three cards per each character in your party. You'll get to select two you want each round after you see your opponent's party. This'll be explained in the Tournament Policy appendix, which should go up soon.

That's actually... um... more stressful. 4 or 3 cards means you have to scout that much harder, and every round until you see all those cards.

Maybe the cards should just always be face up, or a much larger pool of cards, to avoid this unfair advantage to the scouters.

Imagine if you know your opponent's cards, but they don't know yours. You could make choices freely, while your opponent would be guessing.

I think the level of scouting you're talking about is either impossible, or its just simpler to consider every card as a threat.  As I understand things you can change your party to any model in your arsenal in between each round.  When you make this change you bring 3 cards to the table, then you see which characters the other player brought, then you cut your action cards down to two.  I mean the best that you could do is know what model the other player has in his arsenal.

Changing models between round of a tournament? I don't want to bring a truckload to any tournaments. If we can change band between round of a tournament, they just lost me as a player!

If you ask me, the place you saw this information was talking about playing with your friends, not playing at sanctioned tournaments. How would you call that "Constructed" otherwise?

Having a limited side deck is OK, and having to select 2 cards out of your 3 cards per character pool covers that area.

PS: I don't have information to confirm this, but being a D&D minis player, I can say that changing your warband between rounds would be chaotic thing in official tournaments. So I'm wishing I'm right. If I'm not, I will greatly reconsider my playing this game.

I don't think a truckload of mini's make for a good tournment nor does it mean a decent party for the player. I'm sure there's some reasonable limits like alliance, horde, or monster and X amount of figures only. Can't wait for official tourney rules.

Re: San Diego Comic Con Demo news & info & stats & tactics...

I've been wrong enough times to know that it could happen again.  My information is coming from the article "Gameplay Preveiw: Its Party time" (still on the front page as of today).  Here is the most relevant paragraph:

"Once you’ve decided on a faction to play, it’s time to grab some minis. You don’t reveal the faction you’re playing to your opponent ahead of time. It’s perfectly fine if the battle ends up being Horde vs. Horde. (It happens all the time in arenas online.) Consider it a sparring session. When choosing characters to play, plan your strategy based on the scenario. If the scenario map has densely packed terrain, characters with ranged attacks may not fare too well. Look for character synergies. If a character grants bonuses to melee attackers in your party, you’ll want to take several melee combatants. You can take multiple copies of a single character or single class if you wish, but diversity is usually rewarded. If all of your characters are swinging swords and your opponent’s characters all have high armor ratings and low resist, you’ll wish you had brought some spellcasters. The best advice I can give for party building is that you should mix it up! If you play the same combination of characters every battle, your opponents are going to have an easy time countering your strategy. So try to build a new party every time you play, or at least swap out a character or two. Even if you’ve found an unbeatable party, a new scenario or a new battle format will often dictate a new team roster."

It seems to me that the scenario and map are changing often and that your party can change with it.  Perhaps there is a different interpretation, but that is my "source"
